I was wondering want bones they generally use for elephant bone carvings?

What I have seen, was tusks.

The tusk does not need to be full in length to be carved, sometimes it is a piece of tusks, carved to some shape, woman's head or similar

All I have ever seen used are tusks. I have some around here somewhere if I could figure out how to post pictures!

Femur, the longer, solid, single bone in the back leg on each leg.

Second photo is a mammoth, but highlights the bone.

I would also add that they will likely carve many of the bones if you requested it.

A buddy of mine has two carved elephant tusk that his dad bought back in the late 70’s or early 80’s when traveling through Africa.

For whimsical carvings I would use the humerus.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
