Is there a secondary market for taxidermy trophies? If s, where is it? I am looking for a wild boar.

There are some Facebook groups for taxidermy sales. I guarantee you could find it there.

Alternatively, you could go on a hunt in Texas or anywhere in the deep south and probably get you a good one over a quick weekend

I would suggest you contact taxidermists, especially in the South where those critters are common. Clients too often back out and decide they can't afford the final payment, wife won't put up with another trophy on the wall, client dies, etc. Last year a young gal gave us the run around for ten months re the final payment and picking up her moose cap mount. What a bitch. My daughter was way too tolerant but I finally got tired of the excuses and stepping around that rack in our display room. "Listen girl, if you don't pay up and pick it up by this Friday, those horns are going in the dump. I think you'd be very lucky to see another 60" bull in your lifetime, let alone shoot one." And my daughter had even discounted the fee because illness delayed completion. The girl did not respond. A "friend" decided he might like to have something like that to hang outside his cottage hunting camp. We cannot legally sell animal parts but I alerted him to garbage pickup day and he was parked in his truck waiting about a hundred yards down the street when I set it out at the curb with garbage cans. I stood back, photographed it with my phone and waved to him. I heard my daughter "accidentally" ran into him at the store a couple weeks later and then she found her SUV loaded up with groceries when she left. Very strange. It is unheard of her to leave her vehicle unlocked in a parking lot. Well, shit happens and sometimes it happens to be good shit.

Just do a search for taxidermy for sale, there's a few places. And boar are common enough I guarantee you'll find a mount.

There's nearly always taxidermy on wildlifebuyer.com, but it tends to all be in Texas. It's a good reputable site. I've bought some rams on it. There currently aren't any regular wild hogs at the moment, but they have a mount of a leopard attacking a bushpig. That's pretty close.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob
