I too am liking the vintage style. I've read about some PH models being bulky in the hands and the vintage model addresses that

If it would satiate your desires it’s worth noting that Rigby will soon announce their new model that I believe will make a nice 275 to own and shoot!

I wish it was a Banteng! We were in central NT - too far south for Banteng. That's the next best thing though - a Wild Red Ox Bull and I was stoked to take him with the Jeffery. The rifle is engraved with Indian Gaur, so I took the opportunity to photograph the rifle on the Ox. I handload everything - I have never seen factory ammo in Australia, but I don't look for it either.

Any idea how it will differ from the HS if at all ?

I'd like something in .275 that looks like those super slim long barrelled London Bests....but I'm not in a position to afford London Bests, so something priced similar to the HS in that style.

What I like about Rigby is the History and that it is, with some saving and sacrifice affordable in comparison to say Jeffery;s or WR.

If I ever purchased a .450 Rigby I'd likely go with the PH version for the small amount of weight...and maybe that one would be a SSB to boot.

I don't thing there is that much weight in it...maybe Tom said 400 grams...the lightweight loses a pound but you don't get the 1/4 rib or site base as Tom refers to it as, and I like the look of the site base.

No details as of yet, was just talking to Franz. I don’t want to misquote him but as I understand it, it’ll be based of Corbett’s rifle.

I wouldn’t be in a position to buy it anytime soon but if it has drop in the stock, slim stock and the contours/barrel length of Corbett’s rifle I’d say it’s just about the perfect one for me.

If I win the lottery, I’ll be buying a Rigby London best that’s for sure!

If I win the lottery it'll be some LB bolts along with a rising bite double in .500 NE and a rising bite 12 gauge

Could just imaging cold mornings walking the laneways in Vic with a rising bite 12 gauge with my un-trained, out of control, spoilt English Springer Spaniel that spent to too much time with my wife and daughter to be a a good gundog for hares and foxes

I'd probably pay a visit to Westly Richards as well

An original rifle in .275 (bottom of photo), 1924 from memory.
The modern HS (top of photo) came home with me in 2018.
Comparison shows the superb design of the originals….stock and very slim barrel profile. And I still love carrying and using my modern HS, now with patina that was acquired from the privilege of 2 African safaris.
