Hello all,

I have a LGS that is soon to be shutting its doors, the owner is retiring and his kids have no interest in running the store i guess. They are selling the entire inventory for 10% off listed prices, they are mostly consignment so not sure if they are just waiving their commission or what.

Anyways they have a pair of Weatherby mark V's made in West Germany one is a VarmintMaster in 22-250 24" barrel it comes with a Weatherby variable scope from the period and the wood is ok to decent for a Weatherby it is a nice amber but lacks a lot of figure. they are asking $1750 for before 10%. The other is standard Mark V 300 wby mag with I presume an aftermarket Muzzle brake added and it comes with a period correct Redfield scope 26" barrel and is in exceptional condition from what i have seen, the wood on it is blonde with good figure "tiger strips" on the cheek piece but is rather plain elsewhere. They are asking $1395 for the gun before 10%.

My question would be are their any problems i should be looking out for? Also if you could rate these deals or let me know what deal you think is better as I can only really justify the purchase of one to the ole lady.

Gun broker is a good way to look at market value on firearms especially the bid market. I find it gives an accurate representation of what folks are willing to pay. Those prices wouldn't be unreasonable on new guns but I am always leary of used Weatherbys or any cartridge that is notoriously hard on barrels.

Also, if you could rate these deals or point me toward US market entry resources that might help me compare their value, I’d appreciate knowing which deal you think is better, as I can only really justify the purchase of one to the ole lady.
I’d go with the .300 Weatherby. At $1,255 after the discount, it sounds like the better value, assuming the rifle is in the condition described. The .22-250 VarmintMaster is nice, but $1,575 after the discount seems harder to justify.

My dad had a German Mark V 257 Wby. It was his favorite deer rifle. I've read that the Japanese ones were supposed to be just as good but my dad was of German descent so his opinion was a little skewed.

Good morning from Montana.

I'm looking at a post from 2018 where you were looking for a lefty Winchester in .375 H&H Magnum. I'm selling mine. My email is [redacted] in the event that you're still searching for a unicorn.

Best,

Kelly Palmer

Good Evening. I am very interested in you hunt for the spiral slam. March in 2028 would be fine for me

Couple of quick questions:

1) Can we add some additional species on
2) what do you want for a deposit?
3) how do you want me to sign up

I'm on whats app or email

Kurt [redacted]

have a great evening
