Good Afternoon all,
I recently acquired a second hand Mauser M12 Extreme chambered in 9.3x62 that I am quickly growing fond of. It shoots RWS factory ammo well (~0.85MOA) at 100m off sticks and I am planning on working up a 250gr TSX load for use on large deer and Plains Game. (In Scotland, the minimum legal MV for hunting deer, irrespective of calibre or energy, is 2450fps which broadly precludes the traditional 285/6 gr bullet options).
The problem - the previous owner removed the entire front sight assembly, ramp and all. I reached out to Mauser to order a replacement, but by the time I have it shipped from Germany to the UK, pay import duties etc it is going to cost me north of ~£100. Not the end of the world, but I’d rather spend that money on ammunition or something else more fun if I can help it. Understandably, Mauser were unwilling to share the dimensions of the foresight in order for me to make an informed purchase of an aftermarket part.
So my question to this great community, does anyone have a Mauser M12 Extreme (or any other variant I presume) chambered in 9.3x62 that would be willing to measure the height from the barrel to the tip of the blade in order that I can buy a replacement assembly that should be (close to) regulated and save me an awful lot of trial and error induced time and ammunition!
My thanks advance.
