For sale: A well-kept Sako 85 Safari in caliber .416 Rigby. I have been the sole owner since new, and the rifle was purchased in 2018. The rifle is accurate and shoots groups under 1 MOA with Sako factory ammunition. Included are Ernst Apel quick-release mounts installed on the rifle, over 100 fired cases shot with this rifle, and .416 reloading dies. The estimated round count is approximately 200. The stock, metal parts, and barrel are in very good condition. A few minor signs of use can be found on the stock (see last picture).

Price for the rifle, apel mounts, reloading dies is 3,500€.

Please note that the rifle is located in Finland. I can arrange export permit from Finland and depending on the buyers location (if for example Germany) I might be able to take the rifle there myself. Rifle is for sale also in a Finnish forum. Possible transportation or shipping costs are not included in the price.

The buyer also has the option to purchase the Swarovski Z8i 1–8 scope shown in the photos with a ballistic turret (€2,000). I have other use for the scope and will not sell it separately.

The buyer of the rifle also has the option to purchase approximately 100 factory cartridges.

Package price for everything listed above: €5,500

PM me for more info and additional pictures.

Dang, I love those Sakos with the quarter rib.
Beautiful rifle, good luck selling her.

Yes it is. Africa calibers are not so easy to sell in Finland. That is also reason for the low(ish) asking price.

Nice thing! Wish you luck with the sale!

There was a private message asking about the cost to get the rifle to US. I checked it to get a rough estimate and here is the same info for anyone considering buying this rifle.

The export permit and transportation cost from Finland to US would be ~1000€ (Finnish export permit and paperwork & airfreight to US).

On top of that come the fees in US such as ATF import permit cost, possible customs fees. etc.

The Finnish exporter has earlier used a few companies in US as importer and they recommended Simpson Ltd. that is close to Chicago. Finnair has direct flight from Finland to Chicago and that would make airfreight a little easier to handle. Below is a link to Simpson Ltd web page.

Overall the process would be that ATF needs to issue an import permit. That permit will be used in Finland to apply export permit. My Finnish contact can take care of the paperwork and shipping in Finland. Overall the process will take a few months and the longest time apparently goes for getting the ATF permit.
