What Are Your 2026 Hunt Plans?

Cameroon Next month, Idaho for Elk in October, hopefully Nov for Whitetail in MO.
What is on the list in Cameroon? Which operator?

Awesome. I had a friend who took a great LDE and other species with them. What about a roan or harnessed bushbuck?

I believe they will have Roan quota left, the Harnessed bushbuck would be great. I would like to find a Western Hartebeest and Cob, There will be a writeup on this!

Well nothing to wild for me.
Going to try and get the boys on there first turkeys.
If the oldest one gets a eastern going to talk to a few farms and see if I can get him a shot on a Osceola.
Hopefully a few hog hunts.
And back to the national forest before yellow fly season to a few bass ponds.
Then the normal rabbits squirrel
Maybe some coyotes
Then dove and deer season again
And see if we get drawn for a bear tag.
Oh and if we get enough water to fill the wetlands maybe ducks again

Fooled around and got myself promoted in August of 2025. Money went up, time to hunt went down!

Will turkey hunt April with my dad in IL and MO.

Big ticket - 21 days in Namibia in May. Starting in Caprivi for buffalo, then moving down country for plains game. Few days of relaxing / sightseeing in there as well.

Fall will be deer at home in IL and I will be in the running for a Maine moose tag as usual. Maybe this year will be my year.

That'll be it for me unless someone at SCI gets me hooked into something else!
I wish less time to him meant 21 days for me! Enjoy and good luck!

Did Florida officially approve the black bear hunt?

21 days in Namibia and local hunts doesn't sound too bad for time to hunt going down.

Congrats on the promotion and good luck in Namibia!

Won't hunt much until May, then will shoot some ground squirrels for fun and practise, and maybe hunt a bear. June and July are for fishing. August will be in Mozambique with CMS, hunting buff and crocodile. My first time trying for a croc, and I'm excited! Early September will be the local waterfowl opener, always fun. And a good time to get the dog polished up for retrieving. And I've applied for a limited entry tag for reindeer in Iceland. Won't know if that's drawn for another month or so. Late September is our annual elk hunt, and birds and black bears are on the menu then too. Local pheasant and partridge and later on waterfowl fill October quite nicely. And then whitetails in November.

January started out good for me with a great Whitetail buck on family land.
February SCI
April- Red Stag, Chamois, and Tahr in New Zealand
May- South Africa
July- ICAST show
September- Representing Team USA in Italy for the Big Game fishing World Championship
October- Peacock Bass in the Amazon
November- Representing team USA in the Pan American Billfish Championship in Panama.
December- Chasing Whitetails at home in Texas

No shows for me this winter/spring, wife is running short on PTO due to being elected as president elect of her professional organization for the next couple years and spending her time playing politics at both the state and national level.

We will be heading to SA in June, 2nd trip with Hartzview Safaris. I will be hunting buffalo and sable, my wife will be taking pictures unless she changes her mind and decides to hunt while we are there. We are also taking our two adult sons with us, they have a plains game auction hunt that we bought at DSC a couple years ago to split. This will be their first trip to Africa, and honestly, I am looking forward to being with them as they experience Africa almost as much as my hunt.

While it is not hunting, summer months will be spent pursing clay targets across Montana, South Dakota, Wyoming and maybe Iowa or Nebraska this year.

After that it will be whatever the antelope draw gods give up in Wyoming. I apply for a group of people, my sons, my nephew (and niece this year sounds like) and brother in law. Hopefully somebody draws so I have an excuse to spend a couple days in the sage brush.

Will see what the whitetail population does on the nearby place that I can hunt. Last few years have not been good, think the EHD got them a few years ago.

Faro East. Savannah Buffalo and really want a Red River Hog. Then whatever else that will lead to financial ruin :ROFLMAO:
Lots of buffalo there. You will get a good one.

February SCI. Already bidding on a couple different hunts. Probably booking Tanzania for a Roberts gazelle in Massailand 2028 with a friend. Meet up with outfits I’m booked with for 2027 mountain nyala and my son’s 2027 Tanzania safari for leopard, buffalo, sable, roan and PG and meet the outfit for 2028 Cameroon LDE and buffalo that is booked.

April to Nunavut for polar bear.

May to Alaska for brown bear guiding on the Peninsula.

June to Namibia with friend/client as observer for his elephant, roan, gemsbok and springbok in Nyae Nyae Conservancy.

July/August depends on SCI Auctions.

September and October hopefully I have drawn Colorado moose!?!?!?

September through January guiding various hunters in Colorado.

November helping a friend get a bighorn ram on a large private ranch that has a guaranteed tag here in Colorado.

Tomorrow- Jagd und Hund in Dortmund

March - Senegal hunting Western Roan etc.

September - Caucasus, Russia, Dagestan Tur

During the year some Roe deer management, small game, pest control in our own hunting lease

No dates settled yet but Boar/Roe deer hunting in Germany. Probably in the fall.

Also some fishing, first time in years because my son wants to fish. Probably some fish pond to get started again.

Wow. Hard to top some but I'll try. Finally got my permit for yeti. Leave for Tibet in September, then off to China for a cull panda. Unfortunately both are non-exportable. Tried to get a license for those monkeys that sit in hot springs but that quota has already been filled. They've been on my varmint bucket list for years. Safe travels and good hunting luck to all for 2026 and beyond.
No koala?

2026 is the year that I will begin my journey into Dangerous Game hunting.
I will begin in Australia hunting trophy buffalo and possibly camels or banteng as an add on with Alex Jagers @ Big Country Safaris. This is not really a true DG hunt, but a practice run to gain experience with big bore hunting in the wild, remote & adventurous Outback. I will using my 458 B&M shooting 420 Raptors followed by 400 long nose BBW 13 Solids on the bigger game & the 250 talon tipped socom Raptors for the smaller game. With this experience, I think I will be ready with full confidence and more skill to go after true DG that probably want to kill me as I pursue them.

Good luck Hunters on your Adventures in 2026 & Be Safe.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
Boela Bekker.
