Hello,

Does anyone have experience with this rifle? I'm considering purchasing one in a 458 Lott and 300 WM. Are there any known issues with accuracy because of the barrels being interchangeable with the receiver?

Thanks for any input.

Sold mine not long ago on this site. They were great, easy to change the barrels in the field. Use quick detach rings from Tally to mount the scopes and it is easy to use a 1-6 on the Lott and 3-18 on the WM. They are not cheap, but a pleasure to own.

Definitely stick with common calibers and nothing proprietary.

They don't come up for sale that often as the owners like them and keep them. When they do come up, they usually sell quickly. Parkwest quality is good in my experience. As stated, don't get too crazy on the calibers and you will be able to sell it easier down the road if needed.

Happy to answer any specific questions you might have.

Thanks for the feedback.

I had someone tell me over time they loose accuracy due to how the barrels fit-loosen over time. Groupings can be 3" apart. I think that was just a sales trying to sell me a Rigby.

458 Lott and 300 WM sound standard to you? I was also considering 450 Rigby and 300 PRC.

15K and they can't spell "action" correctly? :X3::ROFLMAO:

It is an extremely simple way they connect to each other. It uses a single bolt to tighten what amounts to around a 2-3 inch steel sleeve around the barrel. I don’t see how it would loosen over time.

The Dakota 76 is a great rifle. Switching between the 400H&H and the 375 H&H is easy and the accuracy remains spot on. The 400 H&H took buffalo in the Niassa last October and the 375 H&H took a number of plains. No adjustments upon arrival or after switching barrels and scopes.

Perfectly normal....better than the 2nd option you mentioned even though those are also good.

Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
