NRA wayne La pierre

This is nothing new.
This was a known fact.
He's a POS.
 
Lapierre is a run-of-the-mill grifter. Albeit one that dresses in nice suits. The problem with the NRA is its Board of Directors. It’s their job to oversee the President and they should have prevented him from stealing the organization blind….or fired him…way before he made off with $4 mil. The real amount he stole will never be known. Now is the time for reform. Unfortunately they’ve decided to replace him with another NRA insider who is part of the problem. The anti-gun crowd could never have wrought the damage to the NRA that it is inflicting on itself.
 
Bit of irony in that he liked to live the big life in NYC and NYC was his downfall. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving individual.
 
People of all walks of life contributed hundreds of millions to the NRA to protect our rights. Some of the donors are people of modest means, but they gave nonetheless. It boils my blood to know that the leaders of the organization misused these donations. Lavish trips to the Bahamas and thousand dollar suits. This is not what the donors wanted their money spent on. Wayne knew that, but stole the money anyway. I hope someday he shares a cell with Ibram X. Kendi, another swindler who enriches himself on donated money.
 
Thats a shame. Big black eye for the NRA.
Back in the day when I donated to them, my mailbox would blow up almost weekly with letters from the NRA asking for more money. It was a real turn off, especially after I started hearing rumors of what was going on in the NRA's "Good ol' boys club".
Hard to trust anyone these days.

I stopped giving money to them when I learned his salary was in millions. WTF?
I's an organization full of crooks, what a shame.
 
Legal gun owners of the world still see NRA as the gun owners pillar of the World, although many are aware of issues on hand. But they still see it in that light.
In this particular case, justice has been served.
 
Any organization once it gets large enough is going to have these problems.

But it as I ask others who think that the NRA is one huge cesspool of corruption is, what other organization is fighting for your gun rights?

There are some, even on here that complain that the NRA isn't fighting for "hunting rights", well, they are a firearm rights organization.

I've belonged to a few other gun rights groups. I dropped out of one and threatened them with legal action when they tried to strong arm me into a suppose donation that I supposedly commented to.
 
La Pierre was just the preverbial sacrificial goat. The whole Board of Directors needs to be replaced and held accountable for the misapporpriated (stolen) donor monies before the NRA can begin to regain its former reputation as an organization for gun owners and the 2A.
 
This, in the same month that my latest issue of American Rifleman includes nomination ballots to re-elect almost 30 of the 70+ board members. Wayne is really just the symptom of a broken Board of Directors structure.
 
They are starting a “Corporate Compliance Officer. It’s a bit late for that now! Maybe it will prevent this from happening again.

70+ board members, plus all of their assistants. What is the respective purpose and justification for having so many board members?

Couldn't rather Shouldn't that number of board members be reduced to a quarter of that number and the organization still be just as or more effective.

What about a petition voted on by a majority of members to reduce the amount of salary alloted to the board members?

Personally even though the NRA is the most number 1 powerful pro gun, pro hunter organization, I'll still remain on the wait and see what happens side before I contribute any more of my money to the NRA/ NRA-ILA.

I voted in their annual elections of Directors and I hope I started a change. I didn't vote for a single incumbent Director and I didn't vote for anyone recommended by the current leadership. I only voted for members who had been nominated by friends and other members. I also wrote in my name. IMHO they need to start over and get back to the ideals and roots that got them started.

How is this act any different than Trump using donations to pay his personal legal bills? Heck, with the change in leadership in RNC to his DIL etc., expect the RNC funds to be his piggybank as well.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.
