Cape Town is a lovely airport. Very easy security. I did have a knife stolen out of my checked luggage, so bury valuables deep and travel with a lock.

As an aside… if one is trapsising through the sweltering heat of the African bush all day, an equally important consideration is the type of undershorts worn… unless you’re a commando type. Having spent many sweltering days under loads of various kinds, I cannot recommend Soffee’s ranger panties...

George is incredibly kind like that. My visit to his shop in January ‘25 was incredibly instructive. I asked him about the ads, and he likes to keep a red jar of what was sold, that’s what he said. I’ve noted, however, he’s taken out a few in the last months.
