Shoot, Condor Airlines (Lufthansa subsidiary) has a weekly-ish cheap flight direct from Frankfurt to Windhoek. Suggest you look into this next time.

Maybe I am a little biased, but consistently doing pull-ups will increase quite a few of the surrounding muscles, and your back. I would also suggest to not neglect core. So much power is generated from the core, more than most realize.
