When you get to finishing the stock consider this (might get me boo'd for this but it works). I stripped down an old stock, sanded and then hand rubbed it with bees wax. Might sound weird but it works. Try it on a scrap piece of material first to see if you like the smoothness/texture of the...
Welcome fellow Michigander.
I live in Newaygo county. Send me a PM email and maybe we can get together some time and "tell some trueism" hunting stories.
I booked thru Ed with EAI for my first safari in 2009 and yes the hunt is conducted at Kubusi.
Ed can be hard to contact sometimes as he is sometimes "out and about" doing other things.
Our first leg of our flight (GRR to ATL) was delayed/cancelled due to weather and we had to rebook on the way...
I might check with the other cabin owners and let them know what you see running loose. If you don't see the owners before seeing the dogs again, shoot the dogs anyway.
Even if they had collars on they could have run off from their previous owners and are feeding off of the local wild life now...
Welcome to the site.
We lived in the Santa Fe area for a few years (Eldorodo) but had to move with my work. We loved the area though.
A couple of things to do before you go:
Figure out your wall space then shoot the trophies to fit.
Start the foundation for another addition to your house or plan...
I haven's been with Karoo and don't want to steal your thread but check out Settlers Safaris also. They are near Grahamstown and have all the species that you have listed. I represent them here in the US and so am somewhat biased. Send me a PM if you would like more info.
We've taken this 200/201 flight twice. The first time back in 2009 seemed to have better food than the last trip (April of 2015). First time we had the cheap seats and spent the extra $ in 2015 on the EC seats. We had "adjoining" isle seats (across from each other). Bulkhead isle seating is the...
Double the advice on overnight in Jo'burg.
We take Delta from Atlanta to Jo'burg, arriving at 4:45 P.M., then overnight there and go on to P.E. in the morning. Gives you plenty of time to get your things (or file paperwork for lost stuff) and the overnight there helps cure the jetlag.
Let me throw another name into the hat.
Settlers Safaris, main lodge is near Grahamstown. You can fly to Jo'Burg then on to Port Elizabeth for pickup and transport to the lodge.
I represent Settlers here in the States, so if you have any questions let me know. I'll also send a P.M.
I liked the Blesbuck the best. My PH said that most of his clients seem to prefer springbuck.
I shot a real old warthog and he went for caracal bait. They said that even the locals wouldn't eat that old guy. I did have meat from another warthog and it was quite good, not a lot different than...
Congrats on booking your hunt, sorry I didn't see your post in time to get our name in the hat. I'm here in the States and represent Settlers Safaris. They are located in the Eastern Cape and have the species that you are after, plus a lot more. Check out the web site at Settlers, and/or send me...
