Barnes TTSX weight for 300WM PG

Hi FB, great question; which I will answer in 2 fold. 1. My current 300WM is a bit unwieldly with a 28" carbon tube and a loud brake topped off with a heavy optic. 2. I figured since I have spare magnum action, I would build another that is more friendly to carry and easier on the ears for...

Barnes TTSX weight for 300WM PG

Hey fellas, would you recommend going with the 165 or 180 TTSX in 300WM for PG assuming both shot equally well in same rifle? By practice, I've always shot on the heavier weight spectrum (212 ELDX) in the 300WM but haven't shot mono's before in same rifle. I had read that going down in weight...

Wanted Browning A-Bolt LH BOSS 300WM

A shot in the dark, but looking for a Browning A-Bolt 300WM BOSS in left hand. My nephew is taking shooting and hunting more seriously so figured on getting him a lefty to match his Dad's righty in same gun. Please PM with details. Thanks in advance!

Knives and assisting in animal breakdown?

It was on the cheap and easy; been poor folk living on farm had to make ends meet and re-use whatever we could. Local restaurants would be pouring out old oil and what-not so pops being resourceful started nabbing oil. The old 24" Husky he used to carry is the one I carry now. Though...

Knives and assisting in animal breakdown?

Good tips folks. As I think about, I do want to get my hands dirty; if only for a brief moment or two. Great stories to tell the grandkids and the like.

Knives and assisting in animal breakdown?

Thank you for the information folks, that clears up a lot of my own questions. A pocket knife is a for sure for me. As many others have said, I feel a bit naked without one even when dressed for a board meeting I always have something.

    What Is Your Dream Rifle?

Yeah, but the Winnie and Weatherby have been around a lot longer than the RUM. Just seemed more classy to me.

    300 PRC options

I own a 300PRC albeit a custom. For turn key, hard to fault a Christensen or Seekins PH2. Christensen does have a faster twist (8) vs Seekins (10) so if you decide to reload the heavier pills "should" behave more consistently with the 8 twist. I do like a BDL design more than DBM so...

Best starter guns for an adult newbie

Gotta think even more basic here IMO, stoopid cheap to shoot to learn the basics of sight picture/breathing/trigger control....drum roll.... A high power spring pellet gun in 22 or 25 cal Grab a RWS 48 or 52 side cocking and a couple tins of Crosman Premiers then start with irons at 10yds and...
