I had one in 45-70. Great rifle. Used it for black bear. Factory loads from buffalo bore. Not the super hot stuff. Fun rifle. I moved to a 9.3x73 and sold the Kodiak.
I'll ask around with some of my hunting friends locally as well. Can we keep an informal log of interest? I suspect the 4 hunter required might feel like a barrier, but, we can likely find four individuals here.
I have used both techniques for distant photos. The phone to scope method works great. The only downside is taking multiple pictures or using the phone to compose the shot. I prefer to not have the phone mounted to the scope. But my needs are likely different from many here.
If you want to have soft cases for your rifles while you hunt, the tuffpak is hard to beat. I also put clothing in mine and haven't had any problems so far. I think it's super easy to pack and only remotely looks like a rifle case. Very versatile.
I believe it is a 1 in 8.75 twist. What bullets does the collective forum wisdom suggest? I hope to take delivery of one of these rifles next week. Eventually I will reload for it.
I would also welcome suggestions for lead free bullets for this rifle.
Thanks.
Mike
Mine is at the ffl. I am super excited to see/shoot it. I have a nice vortex razor for it when it gets home. Any recommendations for general ammunition to roughly zero and get an idea about possible accuracy?
