I got the rifle. Sling mount can be removed from the barrel band. It comes with a flush screw. I did remove it and put I back easy. rifle come with 2 more sling mounts for a total of 3 pieces with the same flush screw system.

I got it today. It's beauty!! I will be loading some round tonight to test it this Sunday.

It's on the way to my FFL. Already many other buyers posted it on their social media accounts last week. Also rifle has been listed on the exclusive distributor website and different social media outlets.

I believe it can be removed. It's put in place by a locking screw as seen in some of their other models, including the latest M98. However, it's an easy fix installing a removable sling loop. I believe, It can easily be done by gunsmith or even own JP-Sauer gunsmith in their San Antonio office.

I was told last week that rifles arrived to the US but they have not cleared customs yet!

I did not find it too high when I pointed-faced this specific setup. This mounts are the original Sauer-Mauser quick-detach mounts. I believe they are a bit higher than usual is due to the iron sights in the rifle so they don't interfere while aiming. I did like it and it was easy to gather...
