Africa...when will you be priced out??

Good thread Shakka, I have enjoyed reading everyone’s responses. I don’t think that I will be priced out, but prices might change what I get to hunt in Africa. For example a 10 day buff hunt in Zim is currently about 18k( daily rate and trophy fee). I am looking to go back in 2028 for a third...

An all round rifle caliber , for Africa and elsewhere

I Agree with Green Chile. Can’t go wrong with 300WM. Both US and Africa. Plenty of power and bullet selection.

    Cartridges you just hate

I don’t really hate any of them. I always get entertained by folks arguing for or against the 6.5 creedmore. I don’t reload so like calibers where ammo is readily available. I think if you have 12 gauge, 270, 300 WM, 375 h and h, 416 rigby your ready for everything. Always enjoy listening to...

Recommendations for a Rifle to Take to Africa?

Charles have you considered just using the outfitters rifle? When I went i used a rifle that they had and it worked well for my PG hunt. Some will let you use their rifle at a minimal charge or no charge at all. One less expense and most have good quality rifles, ammo and optics.

    Greenland hunt

I’m headed over to Greenland in September to hunt musk ox and Caribou. Booked flight from Houston to Philadelphia to Copenhagen. Overnight in Copenhagen and fly out to Greenland the next day. Flight cost was about 2k all in. Going with a friend from South Carolina. Hoping it’s a good hunt and...

    How concerned should I be?

It’s straight forward on his website. He is definitely up front about the possibility of additional money that could be owed with rising costs year to year. A few hundred dollars wouldn’t be to big a deal but a couple thousand would be a different story

    How concerned should I be?

I saw something similar the other day when I was looking at mule deer hunts. The outfitter usually books a couple years out but can’t guarantee the advertised price because his costs might go up. So today the hunt is 8500 when you book and sign contract but by the time the hunt takes place in...
