    Alaska fishing question

I’m going fishing in Juneau, AK this summer. It will be my first trip of this type. My friend has done this same trip several times and our situation is as follows. The fishing outfitters will pack and blast freeze the catch into 50 pound fish boxes that we will bring back as our two...

    What TV hunting personality?

My cousin actually went on a hunt in Michigan with Ted Nugent. He had a good time and said that Ted was a good host. I don’t remember if he had a hunting show per se, but I remember Babe Winkelman on Saturday TV doing fishing shows. That would be a guy I could hunt with. John

What motivates a change in powder?

Deewayne, Thanks for your thoughts. I do hear/read a fair bit about temperature sensitivity. I really don’t know much about it. Where I have always hunted, it has been between -20 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit and with factory ammo. I’m guessing it’s significance probably depends several factors.

What motivates a change in powder?

Thank you guys for your responses. I can see how it is advantageous to have: -powders that cover several cartridges -alternate powders, predefined in the event you can’t get your primary powder -knowledge of which powders cover the above two scenarios, allowing you to buy in bulk -I would...

What motivates a change in powder?

I worked up some loads using Varget and will be testing them soon to tweak a little for accuracy. I also have H4350 that I could use for the same cartridge and bullet weight. I’m not asking for advice, what I am curious about is what motivates you to try different powders? I’m certain that...

What Watch do you wear when you hunt?

Tudor watches seem to be quite popular. I had to splurge myself. Thank you to several members here for helping me spend my money! And also for the really good advice. If I wear this turkey hunting, I will need to be sure my sleeves cover up it’s shine. John

Blaser R8 - Too Many Parts or Just A Stupid Operator?

I had planned on bringing my R8 with a .375 HH and 30-06 to Africa. I have a .300 win mag barrel. BeeMaa has been helpful and insightful with my Blaser journey. He has politely and tactfully pointed out the value of NOT having a magnum and standard bolt head when in Africa. The situation...

215 Federal Magnum Primers..haven't seen them in Canada for over a year! Tips? Help needed

I promised myself I would behave better and not be snarky on the forum. But…oh well, here it goes. Can you imagine the “Stitch and Bitch” sessions if Ontario Hunter takes up crocheting? I’m sorry! I just can’t get that vivid mental image of you, surrounded by a bunch of Blue Hairs, telling...

Safari Travel Tip - Air Tags

Different vein of the travel topic but here goes. As a contractor, I have 11 electric scissor lifts that we haul almost weekly from job to job. They stay active or idle on jobs for various periods of time, for various reasons. We have been using the One Key app from Milwaukee tools...

    Travel duffle bags

https://www.duluthpack.com/ I go to the Duluth Pack store in Duluth, MN often. I love the bison leather duffles and briefcases. They also have canvas and leather options. Can’t find a way to justify the price, but they sure are beautiful and well made right in Duluth, MN. Someday… I will...
