    Lead and monolith bullets

1/10 twist Pacnor barrel. 0.5 MOA groups. Whitetail is easy. They penetrate/exit 99.5% of the time and the deer never take a step. Elk are a little more tricky. I am pretty careful to place bullet behind the shoulder and let the energy wipe out the heart/lungs. They will exit 90% of the...

    Lead and monolith bullets

I use the 110 grain TTSX in my Todd Rameriz 30-06. Loaded to 3500 fps. It is a lightning bolt on whitetail deer and elk. Have used for many years and 250+ animals while culling for ranches. In the culling game, both here in America and Africa, tracking is not part of the game plan. I need...

One Stop Shop NEW LEFTY Heym 89B .450/400 3" w/ ammo, bullets, reloading supplies, extras

A fellow lefty and experienced in exchanging left hand, best quality rifles for cash. It takes a long time and the resulting price is far below what a righty will command. I still have some best quality rifles and shotgun sets that will trade for a fraction of what I paid to have built. Just...

    Concealed Carry: Your EDC

I change my EDC depending on where I'm going, which one shot the best for me lately, printing and general convenience. Most days I carry a Glock 30S with a Vanguard Raven trigger guard/wing/wedge. It is my truck gun and I just grab it when I get out. I have a couple of LW Commanders built for...

Best factory 30-06 ammo for plains game

Lots of good choices out there. Can't go wrong with the 180 grain A-frame or Scirocco. I have shot a lot of wildes, zebra, gemsbok, etc... on culling missions with those two bullets in the '06. Accubonds, Partitions, Norma Oryx, and others have worked just as well. I have been extremely...

.25-06 box ammo for Barbary Sheep in SA. A little help gentlemen, please

I have killed a lot of them in Texas. They are tough but not bulletproof. Out of the boxes you presented, I would use the Interlock or GameKing. I use the 55 grain .223 Interlock a lot in culling and they punch right thru whitetail deer. It is a pretty tough cup/core bullet. I get great...

TSX - You Can't Have It Both Ways!

I shoot a custom rifle with a 24" Pacnor barrel with a 1/10 twist. Overall cartridge length is 3.118 inches for my rifle. This load shoots 1/2 MOA groups at 100 yards.

TSX - You Can't Have It Both Ways!

I am a TTSX fan at speed. My preferred load is a 30/06 and 110 grain TTSX at 3500 fps. Have killed hundreds of cull whitetail and cow elk. Does it expand? Pretty sure but never caught one.

    Understanding The Barnes TSX Controversy

I agree and have some experience/experimenting with Barnes bullets. I believe Barnes need speed to expand and a lot of it. I shoot the 110 grain TTSX out of my '06 at 3500 fps. I have shot a couple hundred whitetails and cow elk with this and it works great. I am pretty sure they are...

    Plains Game Ammo

I did a bullet test several years ago and shot a lot of wildes. The 180 grain Scirocco was the best killer out of 8 bullets tested. I would shoot 5 with each bullet, record the results and then start over.
