Coming back from Africa July 2023, I noticed the left plastic eyecup of my 8X32 Geovid Pros had a crack in it. I called the Warranty department and sent them back. The repair took over 7 months to complete. For some reason the part needed was not in stock and they had no idea when it was...
Until this year I killed 7 Buffalo with my 500 NE loaded with 475 gn CEB Safari Raptors. Each kill was basically the same scenario. Spot the bull, stalk the bull, shoot the bull, he runs off 50 to 100 yards and is dead or just about dead. This past season I decided to try something...
I've had good luck with Reloader 15 and a 275 grain CEB Safari Raptor. That powder may work well with the Hammer. I've had good results with Hammer bullets on plains game. I'd like to see how they perform on Buffalo.
These were the cat's meow glassing the shoreline for Bears. Our outfitter had a pair and from a boat there was nothing better. The stabilization made up for the lesser quality glass.
My first double was a LH Krieghoff 500 NE. Great rifle, accurate, regulated just about anything you would put in it. I really liked the decocking lever and never found it slow or cumbersome. I'd have no problem owning another one.
After the Krieghoff I went the custom route and had a Heym...

Leica has improved over the years. I had a bad experience back in the early 2000's that had me dreading a recent warranty repair on a new pair of 8x30 Geovid Pros. The repair took nearly 6 months due to a shortage of parts, but they kept me in the loop throughout the process and even sent a...
They don't always update reliably. I left Phalaborwa SA and it showed my guns still at the airport as we flew away. It was a long flight to Joberg but when we landed, the guns showed to be on the plane.
I'm a case junkie. I have a Tuff pak, Pelican and on my most recent trip I used a Nanuk 995. I took a double rifle, 375 H&H Blaser and a 300 Win Mag Barrel. Total weight was 49 pounds, I carried 2 scopes in my carry on. I was impressed with the Nanuks durability and their latch system.
