Montana Rifle Company TSAVO in .375 H&H - Shooting!!!

Shooting for a little north of 9lbs with a longer LOP in the version 2.0 stock. We probably won't have the Lott or .416RM ready until late in the year.

Montana Rifle Company TSAVO in .375 H&H - Shooting!!!

The Tsavo's all weather sibling, the Brooks will have the machined in Pic rail like our other rifles. There's internal talk of making the pic/slick an option for either rifle, but hasn't gone much further than talks. We're not a custom shop, but substituting one receiver part number for a...

Montana Rifle Company TSAVO in .375 H&H - Shooting!!!

The mount pattern is the same as post'64 Winchester M70 Express/Magnum receivers with .330" rear spacing (#6-48 screws). Talley QD bases are the usual go to. I'm not familiar with anything Alaska Arms makes that will fit. They seem to cater more to the Ruger and CZ550s. I've got a test rifle...

Long Range Archery and Firearms in Holland is also a dealer. Send me a PM and lets try to set something up. The checkering is lasered by our stock manufacturer. We don't have much in the way of options available as we're not a custom shop. We make everything in house aside from the stocks...

8lbs ± an ounce or so depending on figuring of the stock. LOP is 13.5" Aside from still being pre-64 M70 based, the new Model 2022 receiver is a completely different animal from the Model 1999 guns!

The stocks do vary in figuring. The fancy/AA grade we spec has very good character, but some are a little more/less on the figuring. -Ian

Tsavos are shipping out pretty regularly, and I'm very excited to get them into hunters' hands. I think we're close to selling out the first 50 guns! More stocks are on order and expected in a month or so. I'm trying to schedule up a play date with @Mark A Ouellette to see and shoot some...

Montana Rifle Company TSAVO in .375 H&H - Shooting!!!

Hi All, Mark's text this morning made me realize I need to post an update. We've done a lot of changes in our manufacturing process that's delayed the production of the Tsavo and it's all weather sibling the Brooks. First and foremost, we had to flip the order of operations on what side we...

Montana Rifle Company TSAVO in .375 H&H - Shooting!!!

Sorry for all the confusion everyone. It looks like the Tsavo product page that got posted was the draft version, and a hodgepodge of other model's descriptions. *First and foremost, weight is right around 8lbs naked, depending on the stock grain (±2oz). *The Tsavo does NOT have the integrated...

We make short, long, and magnum receivers. The long and magnum actions share the same footprint, but have different bolt stroke and ejection port dimensions. Same rifle sir, we hadn't named it or finalized the price at that time. The rifle you looked at probably had the thread protector...

Montana Rifle Company TSAVO in .375 H&H - Shooting!!!

Weight is just over 8lbs without the scope. Center of mass is right at the front action screw for carry balance. Lefties are in the works, but I can't give you a firm date. Pre-64 M70 trigger geometry. Sear and trigger are wire EDM cut A2 tool steel, hardened and tempered to 56-59 Rc...

The Tsavo receiver is designed to mimic the spacing/hole pattern of the post-64 safari magnum M70 (.330" rear). We wanted something off the shelf that everyone can find. Talley, Leupold, Warne, Recknagel, EGW, DNZ, and even Winchester make mounts that fit.

@Muskox , what's with the hate? Bowhunting has nothing to do with offering the Tsavo with the a classic style receiver profile. Why do you think every other rifle we offer has an integral pic base? Because it makes sense. Do some research on what your fellow AH members reaction to our...

Crown is a recessed dish (flat). Unfortunately, we don't have the capacity at the moment for custom orders. 404J won't be happening for a while. If I had to put a date on it, I'd say early next year. Case length isn't the issue with these cartridges, it's the base diameter. The Rigby and...

The new DGRs (now named the Tsavo) do not have the integrated pic rail. Pictures four through seven in Jay's first post are pretty close to what the production rifles will look like. Screw pattern and bridge contour mimics the post '64 .330" magnum pattern so you can pick your base as needed...
