    Mannlicher Schönauer 'Prewar' M1900, M1903, M1905, M1908, M1910, M1924, 'M1925' or 'High Velocity'

Interesting. Started making up 30 more cases from LC 30.06 match cases yesterday. I have t shoulders rolled back and the necks opened up and I need to make another expander to get the inside neck diameter to where it only gives a .002" grip on the bullet. After that I trim them back to 56MM...

I have previously reloaded 250 gr bullets for my 9X56 M1905 Carbine but am now thinking about trying some Sierra 180 gr. jacketed soft point flat nose (made for 38 Special and 357 Mag handguns. Was looking around and found where one person had tried 158 gr. pistol bullets but had keyholes in...

Ray B, is your 1962 700 serial number over 10,000? Mine is in the 9000 range.

    Pre-72 Remingtons??

Pre 72 was the old designs, 721, 722, 725 and for lack of a better term were strong but not attractive so to speak. The 700 was the classy looking models and I have one with a 4 digit serial number that I don't think has seen two boxes of ammo. The 700 was made in a short action and a long...

Some rifles I have stocked or built

George only lived about 15 miles from me and his knives were beautiful. What was not known about him was he was also a gun lover. He had a pond next to his shop and he was constantly watching for snakes to be swimming across and he would take their heads off from 100 yards. He died a number...

Some rifles I have stocked or built

My Dad was a master watchmaker and a master engraver. He was offered a job engraving money plates for our Treasury Dept and turned it down. Thus I can really appreciate fine workmanship. Apparently you are into knife making. Have you ever heard of George Herron in the states?

M70 bolt, Wondering what is the use of that piece...

I have 29 Mod 70s and never saw such then again I don't have a new production one made in South Carolina and now that I have seen this I will not. I live about 50 miles from where they are now made. That means you have a late production striker (firing pin) the late model ones are notorious...

    Sticky bolt?

A friend had the same thing happen a couple years ago on a factory rifle in 300 Win Mag. He thought it was the dies and bought two more sets and same problem. He tells me about it at a fire dept meeting one night and I told him to bring it down and his brass. I ran his brass through my dies I...

Considerations for rifle selection you should consider for hunting/SHTF rifle

You should visit Jamestown Settlement Va and hear the lectures of the folks that are investigating what happened there and their findings include evidence of how they ate their dead to survive. They are digging continually and their conclusions over the last six years of hearing the...

    Portable reloading outfit I fabricated

I hauled it to Virginia to load my friends ammo back in 2018. Wasn't a pain as I did not have all my shooting gear with me haha.

    In defense of Vintage guns

Says M1910 like above pic and looks just like the rifle in the ad and has scope mounts as well. There is nothing on it about caliber.

Anyone ever have reloaded ammunition that was hard to close the bolt on? What I do?

I quit using expander/decap rods years ago for that very reason and such shortened brass life to boot. Now I expand with a mandrel I make that expands neck to the exact grip I want on my ammo. I set my FL dies to bump shoulders back .002 on rapid fire ammo and .001 for long range precision ammo.
