Similar issue with a kudu I had done in Namibia. It - along with multiple other mounts - were garbage. I took the horns to my 'go-to taxidermy' and they sourced a real kudu skull and matched everything perfectly. I wasn't too excited about the synthetic skull, but that was my back-up option...

Yes, I must certainly go for the highly coveted African trilogy of fur, feather and scale! I am taking the trusty 375H&H, but also just took ownership of my first double, a Chapuis 470NE, so the only thing that could make it even better is that we can get within double range for the buff.
