I shot a bunch of them in Zambia with the ph's 12 gauge. The camp staff had good eating while I was there.

Increase LOP, lighter bullets, PAST shoulder pad, proper shooting form all will help. Check out Falcon Strike Recoil Pad.

So how about this. Old caliber with new bullets. 450/400 NE, 375 H&H, 7x57 with bronze, CEB Safari Raptors, all on Ruger No 1 rifles.

I used 338 mag, Remington Safari, 225 Swift A Frames. Eland, kudu impala, warthog, blue wiledebeast, zebra. Worked great! As others have stated, good bullet in the right place will do the job every time. I think a 3006 with 180's would be hard to beat.

Back in stock at Buffalo Arms. Just got confirmation from them.

rwp315, I have had a 458 Lott, and a 416 Rigby in the RSM. Great rifles. Don't know about investment rifles, but I doubt you would loose money on one.

They could be a little out of spec. Try a different box or a different brand and see how it works. Lean on the RCBS handle a little harder.

Looks kinda like a Harry Lawson style, Tucson, AZ, from the 70's.
