I have shot off sticks quite a few times. All my rifles have rounded forends, seems to fit into the V very well. A wide flat forend may not fit so well I would think.
I used skin so soft with permethrin while buffalo hunting Zambia in October. Worked great for me aganist the tsetse fly and other bugs. My PH thought it worked better than DEET. I left all I had had with him when I left. At SCI the next year I brought him some more.
It shot good before Renner worked on it. Maybe a little better after, he smoothed the trigger up some. I have a Leupold 2-8x36 with a windplex reticle. Also has the streamedlined Trop safety button.
Mr Renner does very good work. I had him do his magic on my Ruger No1, 275 Rigby. It handles like a dream. I load CEB 130 grain Safari Raptors. It shoots 1 to 1.5 inches at 100, sometimes a little better if I pay attention. It's a wonderful rifle!
On this site, there is a video, Buffalo culling in the NT Australia, dated 07 June 2013. Don't know the gentlemans name but he killed many hundreds of Australian buffalo with a 308.
I have a friend that has several blanks he wants shaped and inletted. I know I have seen folks on here that do that kind of work, but can't recall any names at the moment. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
I think what he meant was with this type of bullet, you use a lighter bullet than usual for that caliber. For instance, a 250 grain instead of a 270 grain in a 375. Check the CEB website, you will see lighter bullets than you might expect for a given caliber.
I have loaded 375 H&H, 230 grain to 3000 fps. Plan to use on elk this fall. Used 130 grain in 275 Rigby on cow elk last fall. Hit at the top of the neck, almost took her head off. Used 370 grain in 450/400 Nitro Express on cape buffalo. One shot quartering left, DRT. No heart, no lungs when...
I my mind Andrew Baldry is a standup guy. He helped me get a refund from another outfitter that basicly went out of business days before I was to leave to hunt with him. He went above and beyond to help me get my money back, even though I have never met him. I would love to hunt with Andrew someday!
I don't do camo. I try to wear clothing that matches the dirt and rocks in the area I am hunting. 511 clothing is about as good as you can get. Plenty of pockets on shirts and pants.
