ROMANIA: Transylvania For Bear & Chamois

Congratulations on a successful hunt! It was great to finally meet you in person. I had a fantastic time!

    Snap Caps

I have some for rifles and shotguns. I agree with @Red Leg that they should be of high quality. Since mine are shorter than actual live ammo, I don't use them for reload practice, but to not leave my guns cocked when I put them away for storage. For practice, I loaded two dummy rounds minus the...

    Hunting With Buffalo Rifle

I didn't hunt with my 450/400 before Africa, but I did take my 9.3x74 out and hunt hogs and coyote. I don't really think it made much difference. If you know how your rifle works and know how to shoot, caliber is just a number. The exception may be something that is really punishing on the...

    KUIU Pro Brush Pant

I haven't worn Kuiu, but I'd be willing to pay for four pairs Carhartt, knowing they will be trashed, than pay for a pair of KUIU and hope that they hold up.

    Painful firearm "surgery" needed

JJ Perodeau in Sandy Springs, OK can bend the stock on your gun. Turnaround on mine was about 3 days for drying. It has held its shape going on 6+ years now.

Best Factory Ammo for 7x57 Mauser?

I had excellent results with Hendershots loads in Africa. Hornady also makes .275 Rigby rounds and they have been accurate, though I have yet to hunt with them.

New Chapius 450-400 Elan Classic Just Arrived - Missing Owner’s Manual

I have had several Chapuis. They come with a warranty card, but none have ever come with an owners manual.

    Africa hunting trip canceled

First, I'm sorry to hear that your wife had cancer and you had to cancel the trip, but very happy to hear that she beat cancer. The younger me would have said to take one of your kids or a hunting buddy. Now though, not so much. My wife LOVES to travel. I've been in Europe and planned to visit...

ROMANIA: Quest For The MACHO GRANDE With HUNTROMANIA

Well, there's always the chance that you get stumped in hunting, but I think your chances for success are very high. I saw a lot of Chamois in the mountains once the guide pointed them out to me. All the guides I have had here are first rate.

    W.J. Jeffery makes the .500 again. https://www.wjjeffery.com/500-magazine-rifle

    9.3 x 74r go nogo gauges

I am very interested to know your results. Honestly, it sounds kinda crazy and I like it. I'm particularly interested in what kind of performance a 400 grain gets you from that case.

Actual calibers used for Buffalo by AH members

I think the .416 Rigby is a sexy bullet, but I am head over heels in love with the 450/400 and .404 Jeffery. The .404 was the culling workhorse back in the day.

Pew Policies: TSA and Airline Policies

My sister and brother in law were just in Thailand this past week. Somehow, they met a former military guy who now works private security for billionaires. He got tired of being harassed when transporting firearms through airports and devised a QR code that airline and TSA employees (or anyone...

    Vintage British Doubles

I find the funeral guns beautiful in their simplicity as well. I am guessing whoever ordered this gun felt the same way and must have been a Churchill fan, as the gun was ordered to be finished as a funeral gun. It has a beautiful deep blueing. Also, it was struck light and has 25" barrels...
