Looking for a new SXS. What's available?

It's a bit more than the price range you stated, but I think the Beretta 486 Parallelo is one of the best current sxs on the market.

    What are you reading?

I just finished "Shotguns and Shooting" by Michael McIntosh yesterday. Excellent book if you enjoy shotguns. I also ordered "Baagh Shikar: The Art Of Hunting The Royal Bengal Tiger" and can't wait to give that a read. In the meantime, I will start on "How I Killed the Tiger: Being an Account of...

Baagh Shikar: The Art Of Hunting The Royal Bengal Tiger

Sir, this is a great wealth of information! There are no longer people who can provide recent information on hunting tigers, at least as far as I am aware. Your article helps preserve a part of history. For those of us who will most likely never get the opportunity to hunt such an amazing...

I need a "Use Enough Gun" Gun. Suggestions?

If I had your problem (which is a wonderful problem to have), I would go with a .404 Jeffery or .416 Rigby in a bolt gun, or .450 Nitro or 470 Nitro in a double gun.

New Chapuis Elan Owner looking for help

Just a couple of things that I can think of: as @Russ16 stated, first make sure the action and hinge are clean and free from even small debris. Second, are you closing the action with authority? Not slamming it closed, but not babying it either. A slight snap of your wrist and you should hear...

    Ideal/preferred cartridge on species

    - roe (buck)- .243 Winchester - fallow (stag)- .275 Rigby (7x57) or 7x57R - red deer (stag)- .275 Rigby (7x57) or 7x57R. but I shot mine with the guide's 300 Win Mag - wild boar- 9.3x74R - moose- Haven't done it, but probably would take either 9.3x62, 9.3x74R, or 450/400 - brown bear- 30-06 or...

Hearing protection while hunting Dangerous Game

I use Etymotic GSP-15. I can wear them all day and will actually forget I am wearing them. You can see how low profile they are in these pictures where I forgot to take them out.

    TOO close to home...

While I agree with you, not all those listed on the sex offender list are really (what I would consider) offenders. Some people are listed for statutory rape, such as a someone over the age of 18 dating someone younger, parents find out they had sex, and press charges. While it isn't right, it...

One Stop Shop NEW LEFTY Heym 89B .450/400 3" w/ ammo, bullets, reloading supplies, extras

Stunning rifle in an excellent caliber! Please excuse my ignorance, can a left handed rifle be converted to right hand with a new stock or does the lever move in the opposite direction of a right handed gun?
