    Puma White Hunter Knife

I was gifted a White Hunter in 1971. It believe it was purchased in the early’60s and owned by my friends father. Great knife and I take it and use it on all my hunts.

What do PH’s like to see for sights on Dangerous Game

Interesting thread. The only time(s) I have ever checked a rifle’s point of impact when arriving in camp is a for .416 with detachable scope. I always hunt with a double rifle and have never been asked to check it. Never really thought about it before reading comments on forums. I suppose I...

I used Vero Velini binocular and rifle slings 12 years in Alaska anything better similar

I have two pair of binoculars with Vero Velini straps and they are excellent and have worked for me. I have one pr binos with Rick Young chest rig that “minimal” ( however that translates) and are very good. I discovered them hunting buffalo w/ Dean Kendall. I have Dick Murray leather but have...

SRO 5 MOA Dot for Dangerous Game

I have a 6 MOA RMR and we use it on everything from a .416 REM to 505 Gibbs. Have changed intensity at different times of the day at 100 yards and in. No problems. It has a wide intensity range and glad I chose the larger option

A-Frames, any Neck Anomalies with Brass

Reading your post, my first thought was have you mic’s the AFrames? I load the AFrames for the 9.3x62 in both 286 & 300 gn. The 300gn has a different ogive so the bullet has to be seated deeper to chamber. I have heard the 300 gn are drawn down from .375 hence the difference. It doesn’t address...

Accuracy and Speed with a Big Bore Double

2 rounds held with the weak hand. We experimented coming off the belt. One of use would shoot 2 rounds with the double and while reloading, the other would shoot the 505 or 404 until the double shoots the next 2, total of 4 if that makes sense. Also, we practice without looking at the action(s)...

Accuracy and Speed with a Big Bore Double

TWard1604 and I practice w/ 500NE, 505 404 Jeffery 3 - 4 time a month. We shoot at 25- 15 yards and with the 500, we usually get 4 shots off under 5 seconds. I believe the best was timed at 4.1 but that was a big bore shoot in Houston years ago and hand timed so not sure if accurate, so 5 sec or...

Your opinion on selecting a .500 NE 3” or .470 NE?

I agree with Tanks, there is plenty of 500 NE ammo in the camps I hunt in. Also, reloading this straight wall cartridge is easy. As an aside, my niece who s 5’7” 128#s shoots the 500 and describes it as a “big push” I have video on my phone but not the skill to up load it here.

    Duck hunting shotgun question...

I use a 30 yo1187 and an 870 and the same camo from the 1980’s. I try to stay as still in the blind as possible. I know folks that have more camo patterns than the USMC. Happy Birthday to my fellow Marines. Semper Fi J

What rifle do you totally trust on dangerous game and what rifle do you mistrust on Dangerous game

Complete trust in my 500 NE Double rifle I’ve used over 25 years. And I don’t distrust my 505 Gibbs, 416 RM or 9.3x62 bolt guns. But I always carry my 500 with 2 solids
