    Scope for .416 Ruger?

On mine it was within 0.2 MOA to 300 yards which is very usable for a hold over. Close at 400 but no way I’d hold over to shoot something with a 416 at 400 unless it was a follow up desperation shot.

    Scope for .416 Ruger?

The 223 BDC on the Trijicon credo 1-6 matches the 416 really close with a 400gr bullet between 2350-2400. The LED is amazingly daylight bright but only on the SFP and only red.

Ruger Guide Gun 416 Ruger Review

Yeah, I knew this was a sows ear silk purse situation when I started. It is immediately apparent when you pick up a guide gun that the fit and finish isn’t too tier. To be fair to ruger, the light strikes were self induced. The stock fitment wasn’t great and I don’t like that the open sights are...

    Most rounds shot on safari

I agree that there are a lot of things that change how much you will need. However, based on the poll so far there is a 90+% chance 40 rounds will be sufficient even with no specifics. If you are going on a cull hunt you probably know to take 11lbs or take a rifle you can find extra ammo for abroad.

    Most rounds shot on safari

I have read many posts about how much ammo to take on hunting trips but would like to hear how many y’all have actually used on your trips. May help with planning to have statistics. My first trip I took 60 and shot 7. 1 to check zero and 6 on animals. Who has shot the most on a single trip?

To each their own, you can take it off. Its more fun to shoot and you can easily see the open sights over it. Plus my ears ring enough. I don't know how PHs hear anything after a few years of hunting.

Light strikes: During the first trip I had problems with light strikes. Like one out of every five rounds would go off light strikes. Not something I have dealt with in centerfire cartridges. I assumed at this point that it had something to do with the timney trigger and sear dragging. I still...

Ruger Guide Gun 416 Ruger Review

Reloading the 416 Ruger, advice welcome. I have reloaded for many different rifle chamberings from 223 up to 300WM, but my reloading is generally for target shooting. the 416 required some extra equipment, and I found some things were not readily available. I use an expander die for my match...

I thought I did an exhaustive search on options for mounting on 5/8x28. If you find something I will be impressed. I have a B&C on my M77 MkII 300wm and have been very happy with it.

Muzzle Threads/Suppressor: This is my #1 complaint with how this rifle is designed. Ruger uses stupid muzzle threads on the guide guns. The 375 ruger is 5/8x18 and the 416 ruger is 5/8x28. They sould have gone with a normal pitch that is appropriate for caliber/common. That being said, there...

Ruger Guide Gun 416 Ruger Review

Trigger: The first modification was installing an adjustable timney trigger. These are not really advertised as a drop in and they are definitely not a drop in. A company called spec tech used to make triggers for the M77 and I have installed several of them, they work great but I cannot...
