    Model 70 barrel diameter

    Why 1:10? For 550 or 600 gr?

    Model 70 barrel diameter

Thank you for the very detailed information. My plan is to buy a stainless classic in a magnum and rebarrel it to 458 with a 20” barrel. Probably would be a 300 or 7mm to start. If I read your post correctly, it sounds like the short ejection port wouldn’t cause an ejection issue at the back...

    Model 70 barrel diameter

Another question for you if you don’t mind. I know with the bolt stop, box mag, and ejector mods you can fit a 3.6 oal, but do you happen to know if the model 70 will eject a 3.8 oal without modification to the rear reciever ring? The Wyatt’s magazine looks pretty easy to get done but I’d want...

    Model 70 barrel diameter

Can somebody with a win model 70 in 458 win tell me what the barrel diameter is at about 20”?

    Another Suppressor Thread

Get multiple at a time. Caliber specific will give you the best sound reduction and recoil reduction. 22 cal suppressors with subsonic are the quietest. Don’t put your center fire can on rimfire because they are really dirty shooting. Having a can you can take apart and clean is nice but not as...

    Another Suppressor Thread

I don’t have the brake cap for mine, I have the 46m hybrid though. Perhaps the recoil reduction isn’t quite as good because it’s a 46 cal on a 416. It’s still fairly loud but you can hear the 400gr bullet hit an animal easily. My suppressor on my 300 win mag is incredible for recoil, but it is...

    Another Suppressor Thread

Suppressors are great, however, as someone who has a 416 ruger with a suppressor, expecting it to kick like a 308 is not reasonable. It makes the recoil much more tolerable and spreads it out over a longer time but still gives a deep tissue massage. Keep in mind ruger does not use standard...

    Scope for .416 Ruger?

Yeah, CRHX624-C-2900020 The reticle in the file attached.

    Scope for .416 Ruger?

On mine it was within 0.2 MOA to 300 yards which is very usable for a hold over. Close at 400 but no way I’d hold over to shoot something with a 416 at 400 unless it was a follow up desperation shot.

    Scope for .416 Ruger?

The 223 BDC on the Trijicon credo 1-6 matches the 416 really close with a 400gr bullet between 2350-2400. The LED is amazingly daylight bright but only on the SFP and only red.

Ruger Guide Gun 416 Ruger Review

Yeah, I knew this was a sows ear silk purse situation when I started. It is immediately apparent when you pick up a guide gun that the fit and finish isn’t too tier. To be fair to ruger, the light strikes were self induced. The stock fitment wasn’t great and I don’t like that the open sights are...

    Most rounds shot on safari

I agree that there are a lot of things that change how much you will need. However, based on the poll so far there is a 90+% chance 40 rounds will be sufficient even with no specifics. If you are going on a cull hunt you probably know to take 11lbs or take a rifle you can find extra ammo for abroad.

    Most rounds shot on safari

I have read many posts about how much ammo to take on hunting trips but would like to hear how many y’all have actually used on your trips. May help with planning to have statistics. My first trip I took 60 and shot 7. 1 to check zero and 6 on animals. Who has shot the most on a single trip?
