Choosing a rifle for a Saskatchewan Bull Moose Hunt - Input Requested

The one that you shoot the best. And, if your guide or yourself cant get closer than 350-400 yards to a moose, you aren't a very good hunter. Hunting is about how close you can get to make a good clean kill, not how far you can shoot.

Thoughts on Cape Buffalo under 40"

It is like we have all said before (at least those who call ourselves true hunters) it's all about the experience.

Thoughts on Cape Buffalo under 40"

If something over 40 is what you are looking for go to one of the game ranches in SA and you can find one on their menu. Hell, they probably have him named. Hunting is not about a trophy. It is all about the experience of Africa, an experience that places something in your soul that never...

    Dangerous Situation of Sorts ;)

New BMW, really big diamonds and produced before the conversation the value of which surpasses the total value of hunt. Especially if she isn't a hunter.

    TANZANIA: Mbarang’andu Wildlife Management Area

My dear friend. This is more than just a hunting report. This a story that Robert Ruark and Peter Hathaway Capstick would try to tell without success. It is absolutely great. The most powerful thing in the whole story was what real hunters think. It's all about reliving a life changing...

.375 should be banned from buffalo hunts!

The point is that the issue isn't the rifle. The bulls charged after being shot with bigger rifles not just the .375. Good bullet and good shot placement are what works not the size of the rifle.

.375 should be banned from buffalo hunts!

What was Mark Sullivan shooting when he had all those buffs charging him?

    Leupold Customer Service

There is no other manufacturer of any product that has even close to what Leupold has. I have been a loyal fan for over 65 years and with only one exception (it was a gift) have I ever used anything except a Gold Ring scope. And in the very few cases where I had a problem it was always solved...

    First buffalo hunt question

I agree that the area is more important and search for a PH that has access to those areas. The Selous and Rungwa areas are both for those who like the more traditional safari for buffalo. There are lots of buffs to choose from but look at the PH's who go after the Dugga boys. I went on my...

    Mark Sullivan the Expose’

One definitely has to ask that question. If it walks like a duck......

    Mark Sullivan the Expose’

He would shoot them in the guts and walk up to them. According to others in Africa he would often shoot them with lighter calibers to wound them to induce a charge. I agree. If he has filmed that many charges then he just "ain't" that good of a shot with any rifle. He is probably for...

    DSC Update from the CEO

You are correct about GRB. There is no parking that can take care of a large group. When the HSC was there there parking was a nightmare and HSC only a tenth of the size. Reliant is the only option. The only issue will be nice hotels are not very close.

Why all the hate for CBL (Captive-Bred Lion) Hunting?

Basically it has nothing to do with hunting as a traditional experience. Its buying something from a store. Nothing wrong with it just don't call it hunting. It is no different than shooting pen raised birds, or genetically altered whitetail deer in a high fence environment, fed year around...

Let’s be honest….accuracy off the sticks

Of course you are correct about a croc. Though, and o am only 75 and have been hunting since I was 7 I have never heard of a croc charging and mauling anyone. But maybe they are more dangerous than I thought.
