Need Advice, Looking for a Checkerer

A bit late to the comments, but a fellow by the name of Evan Koch out of the states, has magic hands when it comes to checkering. He’s been helping me alot the past couple of years with stockmaking and checkering. He’s currently working on a websight, if you happen to have social media...

After a lot of thought and folding, grandads right hand stock just doesn’t fit my southpaw grip to well. That rear site, like to try ripping my left thumb off. Iv decided to re stock this .458 to fit me, Iv got a couple/few more years of saving to do for a Cape buffalo hunt, but I’ll be...

    Show off your 100-year-old guns

Loved scrolling through this thread!! Some fine looking old gems posted. This is my 1910 MS 9.5x57, I inherited it from my grandad in the late 90’s. I never could get a handle on archery, so I use this open sited iron for sneaking up on bears.

Thank you R eight!! What were you hunting? Smithers is a town I tell everyone they should visit, such a nice place. I’m a couple hours east of Smithers, otherwise I’d invite you for coffee!! Hope you’re enjoying your trip!!

You wouldn't be disappointed! Summer/fall is super nice, winter is cold and miserable haha, Iv learnt to spend winters in a warm basement whittling on wood.

Some great options over here for that. Western / coastal BC is known for its big goats.

Thank KMG!! Mountain goats are such an incredible animal. The places they live and the harsh weather they live in is something else. Watching goats be goats on the side of a mountain can be pretty jaw dropping. You should for sure try and get after one some day!! The Stone sheep is another...

Hope you’re all doing well and having a great season, wherever you may be! Born and raised hunting fishing and trapping in a little town in BC, grandson to a grandad who made a couple trips to Africa, and always said I should go, when I grow up. Following his tracks through life has led me to...
