What knife are you carrying everyday right now?

I keep a Bear & Son Barlo in my pocket for everyday use, it is comfortable and meets my needs. I keep a Leatherman Wave in my truck. I keep a Cold Steel Master Hunter and a EKA Swing Blade in my go bag/hunting day bag, also in my truck.

    9.3x62 bolt rifle barrel length...

I don’t think barrel length matters much with the 9.3x62. Get what ever rifle tickles your fancy. Do you have a particular rifle you are looking at? Are you planning on hand loading or going with factory ammo? You won’t go wrong with any common barrel length in the 9.3x62.

    New to reloading belted magnums…

The Belted Magnums are Head Spaced off the belt but it’s best to size off the shoulder. I resize brass until I see evidence of probable case seperation or neck splitting. Larry Willis’s collet die is a very useful tool to have. It is a gauge and die for detecting and correcting case swell...

BLASER K95-The Good, the Bad, the......

I have two K95’s along with four barrels, chamberd in, 6.5x55, 8x57irs, 30-06 and 257Wby. The 257Wby barrel is around 25-1/2 inches, the other three are 23.6 inches. The rifles are light and slim and a pleasure to handle and shoot, and all four shoot well. I like the rimmed 8x57 the best. The...

What's your favorite cartridge for hunting Africa? Up to 2 choices.

Voted for .375H&H and 9.3x62 but my favorite is the 8x57

Classic plains game rifles and cartridges

Namibia, used to be German South West Africa. So it seems to me German calibers, 7x57, 8x57, 8x68s and 9.3x62 would be in order for the region you are planning to hunt. My sons and I have been to Namibia only twice. My yougest son took all of his game with a 8x57 and 160gr TTSX and oldest son...

SWIFT A-Frame 300 gn bullets in a 9.3x62 what performance can I expect?

Gert you may want to get yourself a Hornady o.a.l. gauge. I don’t know if they offer the 9.3x62 case. If not it’s easy to make your own. You will need to find a 5/16-36 tap. An L or M drill bit will work with that tap. The picture shows a Hornady o.a.l. gauge, along with a case and 286gr...

    Economy or Business?

Business, if you can swing it you won’t regret it. First trip was United, LAX to Frankfort then Air Namibia to Windhoek, very good trip. Second trip was Swiss Air all the way. The best I have ever taken.

    Mauser 9.3x62 caliber rifle re-loading

Gert 160gr TTSX will take care of any PG and 2500 -2600 fps should be relativly easy obtained. I use CFE223. Ramshot's Big Game would be another good powder for that bullet weight. If you want to go heavy try Norma’s 325gr Oryx. I use RL-17 and have had it up to 2330fps but found my best...

    Tiny 10 Specific Calibers

Barnes offers the 5.56 x45 with the 70gr TSX in factory ammo and would be the easiest and most practical setup mentioned by @Philip Glass. The only thing you must be aware of is, you will need to have at least a 1:8 twist barrel. I don’t know what twist rates rifle manufacturers are producing in...

    Mauser 9.3x62 caliber rifle re-loading

Gert, Barne’s makes 250gr TTSX, 250gr TSX and 286gr TSX in 9.3mm. My son has cleanly taken Kudu, Wildebeest, Zebra and others with 250gr TTSX and I have taken Moose and Black Bear with 250gr TTSX bullets in our 9.3X62 rifles.

If the 9.3x62 became the new legal minimum?

Comparing calibers is fun. Reading through this thread I thought I would 1. Subjectively and with some 2. objective data, compare both the 9.3x62 and 375H&H. I am a little surprised as I now think they are closer than I thought they would be. Anyway here is my little comparison.
