I've always used iron sights for DG but now switching to rmr due to aging eyes. I do love the look of iron sighted rifles.

I still have the 375 I built in 1982. Taken it to Africa multiple times for PG. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

Always an adventure. I've always left my remaining ammo and never been questioned. Expect the unexpected and go with the flow.

Might be the "boomer" in me but not a fan of most of the new cartridges. Love the old classics.

Multiple trips to Namibia. Never have they checked ammo. I do put rounds in factory boxes just in case. I will look to see if I have 300HH boxes.

I use RL 15 and IMR4350. For 300gr bullets I keep velocity in the 2500fps range. Very accurate and deadly

They have a huge area (i think something like 85,000 acres) in high fence. We've hunted large cattle ranches, low fence, close by as well. I've hunted large wild concession areas in Zim and the hunting experience has been very similar.

I've hunted twice with Jan Oelofse Safaris. Going back again in 27. About 3 hrs north of Windhoek. Beautiful area, fantastic variety of game and great family run operation. The ATL to JNB, overnight and then to WND is a nice connection

Interesting discussion. Here's my 2 cents. Do not like 375, bow or single shot rifle for DG. DG calibers start with 4 or more. Bolt action(crf) great, although someday would love a double. Im probably in the minority, but I think 1st shot on any DG animal should be 50yards or less.
