I acquired this wonderful specimen in Tanzania at a roadside stand 4 hours into a 10 hour ride to the middle of nowhere where we had a spike camp. It pains my PH to no end whenever I send him a picture of this hat. I even made a WhatsApp sticker that I attach to all replies with him. I'm not...
I'm loading for a 338-06 now and I ran across 265 grain Nosler Accubonds. Interesting write up on them but no load data. I'm not sure I can get that 30-06 case to get enough powder behind it to be worth it.
I got a guy for you... he built me a very nice 35 Whelen on a Springfield action. Let me dig up his number and send some pics of my rifle. He's also very reasonable considering the work that goes into stockmaking.
I found a scope for a good deal and then purchased a rifle because I had an extra scope sitting around. The rifle was an odd caliber and then I needed reloading dies, brass and so on... next thing you know the deal ended up costing me something like 4 or 5 grand... looking at it right now...
Gorgeous rifle! I would comment with my opinion but (nobody cares and...) upon further inspection that caliber would justify a haircut on the barrel. Be sure to post after the alteration is made.
LOP measurment was taken from the front of the trigger guard and not the actual trigger itself. That's a really nice stick of wood. Heck of a deal for a lefty! GLWS!
What can I say other than a 416 caliber with premium bullets performs exceptionally on African animals. It really delivers devastating down range performance. I truly wish the new owner much success with his purchase as I know it went to a good home.
