"Something old, something new:" For anything up to and including Kudu, I'm absolutely confident in my Browning X-Bolt Speed 2, chambered in 6.8 Western. It has never seen a target animal take a single step. For Eland, Buffalo, and Giraffe (because I'm just not interested in any others Jumbos) my...

What is your accuracy standard for a Big Bore bolt gun?

Don't overlook the Nosler E-Tips for the .375! I run those (260 gr) in my .375 and 250 gr in the 9.3x74R. The .375 stays under an inch, which is FINE for anything I'd ever use it for... but the 9.3! Holeee Crrrrap! Quarter- to half-inch groups are the norm. And don't tell anyone, but they are...

    Buffalo specific question

So I've done my own taxidermy for decades now. Had a very successful shop mounting whitetails, hogs, and striped bass, with occasional forays into black bears, caribou, elk... So I have a pretty good idea what I'm doing in terms of the mounting and finishing process. HOWEVER... I'm curious...

Hey all- I'm planning a plains game hunt in SA, just getting started with logistics and building the bank account. I'd like to read other people's experience with the invisible costs of a safari: trip insurance, air fare, gun transport, customary tips (amount and to whom?) Price of shots &...
