The CEB solids have been pretty good about matching POI with hunting loads in several calibers for me. They poke a clean hole with deadly results.

300 RUM is a heqq of a cartridge and could work fine for your planned hunts. Love the 338 as well, but you will need a new bolt head. For those bigger critters 375 is my choice. With 235 grain bullets it shoots pretty flat for most plains game. 270 or 300gr for the bears....

Speeds would need to be similar to the original regulation load to obtain matching poi from both barrels. Modern rifles are likely regulated with factory ammo which is usually ~2,150fps. Older rifles could be regulated with the slower speed ammo. Also, at 1,850fps with a 500gr, the energy...

Good excuse to handload. The CEB 180 shoots to same POI as the 180 Scirocco. Very effective on tiny antelope. Be aware parts of Africa do not allow solids (or especially military ammo).

I find the CEB solids to be easy to load to similar poi in several calibers. Pretty accurate. Pokes clean holes w/o expanding. Just carry a couple on the buttstock.

The online class and test was all of 30 or so minutes.
