Every hunter who regards him / herself a committed hunter should belong to and support at least some organisation representing hunters concerns, rights and contributions to wildlife conservation. Many such organisations abound but measured on a worldwide scale I believe SCI does this best. I am...
Been fortunate enough to enjoy several dream hunts in Africa. The best have been in the Zambezi Valley with CMS and my one Cameroon hunt for LDE. I constantly relive these hunts in my mind and long for more, hoping I will make them happen before old age overtakes me. But any and every time I...
Barnes TTSX. Not perfect performance from absolutely every shot but had very few disappointments. They hit hard, shock hard and penetrate far and straight, even through bone. They will be my preference until something else proves better.
Hi,
I am considering this handy looking Powder Funnel Kit and see the largest insert is 35 + cal. My question is:
Is anyone using this insert for dropping powder into 375 cal brass ( 375 H&H, 375 Ruger in my case ) ?
If so is the insert giving clean powder delivery into the case ?
Have you noted...
Buy some of the ADG 375 Ruger brass advertised here by Raven Rocks. ADG did a limited production run but I managed to obtain some recently. I agree Hornady brass quality can be sub optimal and expect much greater consisrency from the ADG.
Recently did ( another ) tade with @LRich here. He is a gentleman of the first order and as honest and trustworthy as they come. In complete disclosure it is my good fortune to have known LRich for some years so my commendation includes a track record perspective. I have total faith in any...
Roger,
From the perspective of a Kiwi who has hunted several times in the USA with my own rifle, it is certainly doable as long as you don't mind the complex procedure for a permit.
Applications should be made weeks in advance of travel dates although once an application is sent approval is sent...
You're not alone. I've been humbled too but on different game. Never hunted Leopard which are acknowledged for unpredictable results.
As hunters we all want success but need to remember if we are genuine, honest hunters that sometimes nature will hold the winning hand. I remind myself that's...
Just amazing quality with all these bulls. You guys are making my heart ache for the heat and the chase.
Thanks to all of you for your pics and part of your fond memories.
There's nobody luckier than the hunter who has honestly pursued one of these beasts, nature's gift to those of us who live...
Apart from April thus year due to an ongojng bathroom renovation I usually get out weekly shooting a 243W for Hares, Rabbits and other pests and using from 1 to 6 shots. And every 3 to 4 weeks I would be out Deer hunting mostly using a 30.06 for 1 to 4 shots average. Actual range shooting would...
I shouldn't have opened this thread. Dammit ! So many wonderful bulls and I can't get enough. Now I'll be dreaming and scheming all afternoon instead of concentrating on what I should be doing.
Sorry, haven't read this entire thread but can offer some use experience on White River primers. Here in NZ we had the same primer shortage nightmare and I had to resort to any alternative when my preferred Federals were unavailable. So far I have used only WR LR primers in mostly Norma brass...
