Alaskan 416 Rifle with HS-Precision stock

If my rifle has a barrel band, will the forend be short enough to miss it?
Was this a special order item? If so, from where did you order it?

@TOBY458
I have a few of the Alaskans with the barrel bands.
Apparently Ruger had a couple of different sources for the bands. One version is slim in outside diameter, as it should be. The other thicker. I have encountered different placements on these, from distance to end of barrel, which of course equated to end of fore end.
Those far, I have had one that the actual swivel when attached would contact the fore end tip of a McMillan. It was easily visually detectable to me, that when in factory Hogue, that the band was seated farther down the barrel.

With all that said, it appears the HS Precision had a slightly shorter fore end than the McMillan Classic stock and the Factory Hogue.
Very close to the Hogue, but fractions shorter.
If the factory works, the HS Precision will.
I called and ordered directly from HS Precision.

They have a website. I think calling is best. I ordered, the nickel sling studs, paint job, and Decelerator pad. If this rifle had the barrel band stud, I would have specified no front stud.
Also specify your length of pull. The standard is 13.5".

Thanks for that info! How do these compare to Mcmillan price wise? And what was the lead time?

@TOBY458
Your welcome, no problem with sharing info.
Lead time is Substantially shorter than McMillan. Unless you just happen to get lucky and McMillan is molding a run of what you ordered. My experience anyways.
HS Precision is weeks, McMillan is months. I think, HS Precision stated 8-12 weeks, it was closer to 8. Including being hung up in shipping to the winter storm for about a week.
Price wise it is about a even, for what I order.

I found an H-S Precision Ruger stock on the Stockeys website for $399.00. It says for long action Ruger M77 MK2, but not sure what barrel contour it will accept. It's green with black webbing.

When I talked with HS Precision they said they would fit. You might have to open up the channel a tad, but doubt it. I think they make them for the largest contour. Which the 375 & 416 Rugers will fit in Ruger factory 300 & 338 Winchester stocks. The difference in contour occurs after the fore end tip, in the several that I have tried for fit. Even with McMillan, I tell them I want a 338 barrel contour, or they will tell me the 416 barrel is too big to fit. They are confused with the RSM Rigby contour, I believe.
It should fit. There can always be slight manufacturing dimensional differences with the barrels and stocks. But that should work.
