He looks like a big bobble doll!

Wow - What a brute!!

Those are the weirdest eyes i've ever seen on a wildebeest. Impressive bull but weird for sure!

Yes Your crazy! Thats a nice Wildebeest and the old rule is to shoot when you can see the whites of their eyes. That boy was begging for you to shoot! lol

Jerome,
I was once told that if a w'beasts horns spanned to the outside spread of the ears it's a big bull.

If that's the trueth, then this one's a monster, no ?

Time to fess-up.

What's the story behind this pic.

He's going to be a big bull for sure still needs to go another year or two for his bosses to develop properly and the brown between his horns to become dark. Strange eyes though at first I thought it was photoshoped for fun or still think maybe it is.

Yes its a general rule of thumb to look at spread past the ears but it can be deceiving since the ears must be pointed exactly outwards and horizontal they seldom do stand like that mostly the ears are turned up like in photo and forward. But when a bull does have the ears correctly horisontal you are looking at spread around 26" this boy will make 30"

Frederik, your response highlights the value of an experienced and knowledgable P.H when assesing Trophies.

What I know about w'beast could be written on a cigarette paper and have space remaining.
My statement was a remark told to me by a young zim P.H, and an in passing comment.

Regardless of his current size I would hate to shorten the true potential of this animal by mistakenly ending his days prematurely.

All this still does little to explain the "look" of having just returned from a colonoscopy !

Paul, No doubt, it is an exceptional bull! No particular story behind taking this picture, just had a good laugh while zooming in to look at the animal, only to find him looking at me with a crazy look. If you are interested, here is a good thread regarding Judging Blue Wildebeest.

Frederik, This picture was not photoshoped, just happened to capture that moment...

That is a big wildebeest...

Hi Jerome

That is a extremely nice blue wildebeest great genes for the future that is for sure!

Thanks for sharing.

Best Regards
Louis van Bergen

Yes let him spread is genes around a bit - 5 /10 years time we will have a herd of amazing horns and crazy eyes !

On a more serious note any fermented fallen fruit around where he is - seems to remind me of a horse I had growing up

Windfall apples in the orchard - drunk as a skunk !

so if I came over and shot him, reckon my taxidermist could mount him just like the pic?

Hallo Marius- do you have possibilities for stags in September during the roar? Where are your hunting areas in Romania?

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on another rifle but would love to see your rifle first, any way you could forward a pic or two?
Thanks,

Love your rifle! I'm needing a heavier rifle for Africa. Sold my .375 Dakota Safari several trips ago. Would you have any interest in a trade of some sort involving the custom 338/06 I have listed here on the site ( I have some room on my asking price. I also have a large quantity of the reloading components and new Redding dies as well as a box of A-Square Dead Tough ammo.
