Hi- I'm looking to hunt Zim next year for free range buffalo. The operation is near Victoria Falls. As I'm booking my trip now I'd be interested in pros & cons for a June hunt vs July or August. Thanks
I like August and have been hunting Zim most every year in August lately. This year we are hunting in July. There are fewer leaves on the trees and less water in August which has obvious benefits.
Don’t limit yourself. There are many good places in Zimbabwe. I’ve been hunting the Zambezi Valley and love it!
I hunted Zim the first two weeks of Septemher. As Philip stated, fewer leaves and less water. Toward the end of August, the days start to warm up. Not HOT, but warm.
I have only hunted July and August. I liked August the best as there seemed to be a little better visibility when stalking. Either month is great, however.
Nothing wrong with June , our area is about 3 hours south of VIC Falls , but later in the year does get better when there is less water and more leaves have dropped.
I realize how hard the bug has bit. I’m on the cusp of safari #2 and I’m looking to plan #3 with my 11 year old a year from now while looking at my work schedule for overtime and computing the math of how many shifts are needed….
