I've been reading this forum for a while, thought I better join. I haven't been to Africa yet but hope to get there for a plains game hunt next year. I tend to research things to death so I'm enjoying all the information here.

Welcome to AH Neil! Did you select a country yet?

I'm 95% sure it will be Namibia. I keep finding more outfitters to check out and there is a small Africa Hunting show in Toronto in the winter. The winter 2011 show had a lot of Namibia outfitters which was good.

Great choice! You most probably checked it out already, but just in case you did not find it yet, here is a great resource for your research: Hunting Namibia.

Hi Merlin,

Which outfitter are you using? I'm finding it hard to pick one. I'd like to talk to one or at least get a solid referral from someone. I guess a lot of them go to the SCI show; I might go to the next one.

The other thing I'm trying to figure out is flying there. What airline and route did you choose?

Thanks for any help/suggestions.

Neil

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,

Forgive me if this is the incorrect area, I signed up to this forum just now because I wanted to be on the list to purchase a copy of your autobiography. Please feel free to pass my information along to whomever is selling. Thank you so much. I look forward to it!
I like the Tillie in my picture. They are supposed to fit loose (2 fingers inside hat band), have mesh for cooling, and hold their shape after washing.
