African Taxidermy Pictures

Great post, Jerome ~ I have to agree with Frederik that my favorite is the lion chasing the vulture off the zebra kill - it's very realistic. Thanks for sharing the photos as I didn't have a chance to see much of the show.

I really enjoy the lions full mounts... many of them show very realistic face expressions....

The SCI Annual Meeting have maybe the best taxidermist all over the world. It is a pity to hunt a beautifull and sometimes expensive animal, and later the shoulder mount is ruined by the bad done work of a wrongly named " profesional taxidermist".

Here are African taxidermy pictures from the SCI convention 2013, enjoy and please share your mounts in this thread!

Awesome post Jerome, saw some of these mounts as well, must admit I am fond of most if the Leopard mounts.... For obvious reason!!!
:)

My best always.

That Leopard coming off the wall sure would do something for the entrance way to the house.

I do like the pride of Lions.

Cats have to be the toughest.
Too many look bug eyed..

Some great looking art in there. I agree that cats are the hardest to perfect, they always look cross-eyed to me. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Jerome..

saw some of the Animal artistry ones last fall being worked on.

+1.
Seeing the first pic of a Lord Derby Eland mount reminds me that I want to hunt one so badly that it hurts.
The same goes for buff when I see the last pic of a buff mount.

what an inspiring selection of taxidermy art work at its best .

Very cool Cheetah!

WOW Great Mounts!

I have come back to look at this Cheetah mount ten times. I am so used to seeing pedestals and dioramas.... this is so novel.

Taxidermy in Cabela's Richfield WI.

I expect there are members here who have seen these displays but for those who haven't, here are a few shots of the dioramas within the shop.

I just love that sable!

Looks great, our local cabelas (Omaha) Africa section is not the best in quality and seems pretty much old mounts. I really like the sable mount, very nice work.

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,
Gary (Just down the road in Springfield)

Forgive me if this is the incorrect area, I signed up to this forum just now because I wanted to be on the list to purchase a copy of your autobiography. Please feel free to pass my information along to whomever is selling. Thank you so much. I look forward to it!
I like the Tillie in my picture. They are supposed to fit loose (2 fingers inside hat band), have mesh for cooling, and hold their shape after washing.
