Happy New Year and hello from the highlands of Scotland!

A long-term lurker who drops by for the odd hunting reports etc. A bit of an unusual one from here on out but to sell myself:

I’m in my mid-20s and grew up stalking red deer in the North west coast of Scotland and have spent the last 5 years in the British army as a sniper and specialised in long-range reconnaissance. I’m about to head off on another Tour but the so what of all of this is I get 10 weeks paid leave at the end and would like to come work for room and board whilst living in the bush. Whether that’s helping with the training of anti-poaching teams in trauma medicine, contact drills, or ideally akin to an Appie for a few months.

Happy to discuss details of my CV with anyone to whom this might appeal to. As is typical with my work I don’t have hard dates yet but likely to be around October in 2024 when I’d be available from.

Thanks for your time.

Welcome to AH! Have you read any of Hunters African books?
My Africana books collection has only been going a couple years and I enviously eye up a few when people post them here. but I've got a couple that I think everyone on here would enjoy.
Sunshine and storm in Rhodesia (Selous), the end of the game (beard).

Good day! Welcome from our side too!

Welcome!

Here are some anti-poaching companies operating in SA/ROA (rest of Africa). I do not know anyone within them, only about them. They seem to accept volunteers. The Protrack company, from its website offers a 8 week volunteer program.

If you want to join the SA company (Protrack), I noted they operate from Hoedspruit, then you are welcome to contact me, we have a family farm close to Hoedspruit and I can tell you more about the area (or SA), how to travel there etc.

There are also a few private owned companies with private concensions whose details I can provide you, they might be interested (I do not want share these on public forum)

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,
Gary (Just down the road in Springfield)

Forgive me if this is the incorrect area, I signed up to this forum just now because I wanted to be on the list to purchase a copy of your autobiography. Please feel free to pass my information along to whomever is selling. Thank you so much. I look forward to it!
I like the Tillie in my picture. They are supposed to fit loose (2 fingers inside hat band), have mesh for cooling, and hold their shape after washing.
