Hey Guys (and gals)
As a hunting columnist for a newspaper, I was reminded as my safari approaches, not to publicize actually when we were leaving. In this modern world of social media, we don't always know who's really watching. You can be setting yourselves up for a theft. Unless, as in our case, you have someone housesitting with 2 dogs.
Recently, one of our friends in the oil/gas industry, said his boss was cleaned out at his home in Colorado, while he was here in Ohio. The weirdest scenario I've heard of was a local fellow received an envelope in the mail that contained 2 tickets to a Cleveland Indians ballgame with a note saying "Congratulations on winning our drawing! Here are the tickets that you won...Enjoy!" He didn't remember entering any contest, but...what the heck? He took his wife to the ballgame, and when he returned, the house was empty. All the neighbors said that they saw a moving van pull up to the front door, and 3 men took it all. They "didn't want to disturb them" thinking that they were moving!
I have not even mentioned it in my column, so that no one would "disturb" my home while we are away. Enjoy your trip, but first secure things at home, so that yoju can relax and enjoy your safari!! Thanks..hunterhanna!!
