Hi all.
I am hoping someone can help, I would like to Identify this Mauser type action in order to hopefully source an off the shelf replacement stock.
It is currently chambered in .300WM, has very few identifying marks and I am at a bit of a loss as to its pedigree.
Any help would be appreciated.

With that slide safety, bolt shroud, and the shape of the bolt handle..I’m going to guess a zastava or one of the companies that used zastava actions over the years (whitworth, etc)…

Are there no markings on the barrel or action at all to reference other than the serial number shown in the pic?

The rear of the action appears commercial.. I dont see evidence of The stripper clip “hump” being machined down under the scope base..

If not a zastava, my next best guess would be FN… but to my knowledge FN never used a slide safety with that particular profile (theirs didn’t have the double raised profile yours does.. the FN slide was more flat IIRC)…

Thanks that's a start, I was thinking it may be a Zastava action used by someone else, hence the lack of identifying marks. The only markings are that little crown shaped stamp above the serial No and the little X on the underside of the bolt.

I strongly suspect either Interarms Whitworth or H&R. A standard action 98 Mauser stock should fit with some minor modification to allow for trigger block side safety.

Parker Hale or Santa Barbra going by the markings on front receiver ring under the tang it should be marked made in Spain, good actions same as FN & Zastava.

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
