Hi Folks,

While researching a trip to Mozambique for 2014, I learned of a cancellation for August 8-25, 2013 (14 hunting days plus travel) to the northern part of the Niassa Reserve bordering Tanzania. My wife and I have booked and we are looking for another couple or another hunter to take the other spot to round out the camp. The cancelled booking was for two safaris. The safari is offered at a nice discount and we could also split charter fees and save even more. The available spot is for Buffalo, Sable, and plainsgame. This part of the Niassa is remote and has few settlers. I have done a lot of research and can share references I received. I have spoken to the party that cancelled and this was to be their fifth trip to the area and operator but they must cancel due to a business problem at home. Send me a PM if interested and we can talk. A little about me: I have 22 years experience as a fulltime outfitter in Colorado with most of the NA animals under my belt including a slam and a half of sheep and other trips abroad including Zimbabwe. My wife and I are serious hunters but fun to be around in camp and happy to see others successes. I have no ties to this safari operator other than as a new client for this trip. Send me a PM for more info. Thanks. Scott Limmer

Any more info on Outfit or concession name?

Interesting idea Scott.

Scott is pretty modest, he runs one of the best outfitting businesses in CO for mule deer!

Guys,

I do not know if the safari operator is a member or advertiser on this website so I don't want to break the rules. Please pm me if interested so I don't break the rules by posting his info without AH approval. I believe the forum rules do not allow me to or anyone to help a non-member operator/advertiser to book a hunt. If I am wrong, someone let me know.

Basically, the safari is available at $680 per day for daily rate for 14 days - $9500. Originally the second safari did not include a Sable but I negotiated a Sable for the second safari at an additional $2000 that will be added to the trophy fee. This additional $2000 would normally be paid upfront but I got it added to the trophy fee instead. So now, the safari is for Buffalo, Sable, and Plainsgame. Dates are August 8-25 (hunt 10-23).

Trophy fees are:
Baboon $150; Buffalo $3000; Bushbuck $775; Croc $3000; Common Duiker $355; Red Duiker $700; Eland $2100; Sharpes Grysbok $550; Lichtenstien Hartebeest $1850; Hyena $750; Impala $450; Kudu $1900; Reedbuck $950; Sable under 40" $3500+$2000; Sable over 40" $4300 + $2000; Suni $750; Warthog $450; Waterbuck $1850; Niassa Wildebeest $2100 (only available in this part of Africa), Boehms Zebra $1800 (only available in this part of Africa).

Other fees:
Hunting license $250; Visas, departure taxes $120; Gun permits $200 each; Ammo tax $1.00 per round; Charter flight $600 each way minimum; Dip, pack, crate $1200; Commercial flights $3500.

Expensive but still way cheaper than Tanzania, Zambia, or full price Mozambique.

Let me know in a pm if you want to know the concession and operator names. The camp is along the Ruvuma River bordering Tanzania in the northern end of the Niassa Reserve. Lots of sable, buffalo, elephant, cats, etc...

Thanks,

Scott

Scott your post is in a category all its own the way I read it.
A hunter attempting to find another hunting partner to share a cancellation.

The Name of the operator should be thrown in.

If you have a commercial interest it may change the optics and the rules.
Jerome will let you know.

OK thanks. It is Jamie Wilson of Luambeze/Mazeze Safaris. One of my Colorado hunters hunted Lion with him. Good report. If anyone on this website has hunted with him, I would appreciate a report. The cancelling hunter is in the archery industry and has taken 4 leopards in four trips with Jamie with a bow. I am hunting leopard, sable, buffalo, and plainsgame.

If the operator is Jamie Wilson of Luembezi Safaris (hunts Niassa on the Ruvuma River) then you are in good hands.
