I'm looking at going in 2026, one option along with those above is Ethiopian Air, flying into Adduas Abbai, then onto Windhoek. But I'm vomming from the Midwest, so Chicago start.... ug!

I'm trying to pull together a hunt in RSA in one month, short on planing time! I hunted there in 2022, needed covid vac to enter.... has anything changed, or do i need anything new? Any suggestions / tips on speed preparation for RSA hunt?

What dates are still open in March or june?

Always nice to see growth. Was hoping to attend but hunting partner schedule didn't fit, now he's out for DSC. Maybe next year, drop a heads up if an open slips in for Friday.

Looking for advice from someone with past experience. We will bevdoing a red eye flight plan for DSC Jan 12. Whats the best way to get from DFW to n back from the convention center? Looking at the website the listed shuttles are only with partisapating hotels?

MN rifle season ended yesterday. Had to pass on this huge deer... no rifle with me. The small 8 pt was harvested after a long night shift, perfect for our freezer. Browning BAR. 30-06 using 150g corelok bullets (junk by cheap) MN, Lake Co, morning hunt from ground stool.

Opening Day on SD. Was almost run over by 2 Royal Elk bulls before this buck tried sneaking by at 18yds. Good morning walk. Hunting with 30-06 w BOSS.

They still do the memorial at split Rick light house, the ringing of the bells should be tonight. The weather is proper, windy with light snow getting worse once sun falls down.

Overall, the cost of my first hunt will be less then the cost to get 9 trophys on the wall. Mix of ero's n mounts. Next trip (??), I'll not be brining anything home but photos. videos n memories. Easier to pass onto the next gen... but into of sad as well. Next trip will be DSC, hope we see...

I'm having the same problem. A very nice black wildebeest taken and now at the taxidermist. Looking for photos to give ideas on how to mount it...shoulder is what I'm thinking....low odds wall pedestal (a sable n red heartbeest getting tanned as well)

We are using SBS LOGISTICS for shipping, I assume they are flying with Delta, don't know. I'm told rates have gone up again, 2400 final cost. Happy the crate is on its way, not happy about the cost/lack of control you have. Gotta trust the people you meet in RSA are making good decisions.

Congrat on getting the walls painted...and the mounts so close! I'm about a month behind you, crates are sealed n waiting shipment to Chicago. Laura with Coppersmith is handling our two boxs of memories as well...shipping from CH to northern MN (Duluth). Hope our cost is close to yours.

Here is my old dog, Iron. This was most likely his last year hunting, 14 year old springer that still puts the kill on racoons (skunks n porcupine too) while mixing in finding upland birds. IA opener in this photo. He's hunted, MN, IA, SD, ND, MT. Very sick today, old, not long with us.

I have dreamed of African hunting since my 20s, finally went in 2022, and planing to go back in 2025, at 55 years young. For me it's a question of free time and money. We are hoping to set up a trip every 3 years right now, would prefer every other. Currently, hunt year X, have trophys D&P...

Welcome, great forum with tons of advise

Out my kitchen door for whitetail, 30 min drive for grouse, 5+ hour drive for good phesant, 10+ for western big game.

In July of 2022 we took MSP-ALT-JNB on Delta, the trip back was JNB-Paris-MSP on Air France. The next trip will be using AF both ways, better service. But if time is the issue, you can't beat the direct, 16 hour, flight ALT to JNB. If you go that rough pay for comfort +, main cabin was hard...
