I have a Mauser 8x57JS with double trigger set, it really is a great option to have when you want to shoot accurate using this double trigger/hair trigger makes sense. My two Mauser 8x57JS hunting rifles..it is a great caliber for hard hitting deep penetration on bush-veld game here in South Africa.

Frederik, some feedback. The BAD ACE NO DRILL/TAP scope mount is an excellent product. It is extremely sturdy, mounting a scope on it is easy . I sort out your concern in regards to the high scope mounted that will make shooting difficult....no not so , I just fitted a stock cheek piece and now...

I am sure the S365 , 43.4gn with OAL 78mm is the load that works in this rifle . I now need to work on seating dept to get to a smaller group. I would therefore like to hear from you 6.5X55 Swedish Mauser owners how you go about this "determining seating depth for small groups" process..I know...

SONCHEM IS up and running again..Unfortunately their price on the different propellants sky rocketed , in some cases it is more expensive than the imported propellants , many hunters moved away from SONCHEM propellants.

Members any re-loading data for the .300WM. SONCHEM 365, ELD-X 178gn bullet, OAL 87mm , I commenced with 63gn S365 at 2430f/s that is not fast enough and was used to blow out new NORMA brass.... A friend of mine shot a Blue Wildebeest at 280m first shot , second shot at 330 meters . Second shot from the rear penetrated right through to exit at the left fore leg. BARNES 400gn bullets . He use only one caliber in a hunting rifle a 404 Jeffery, he does not have any other rifles :D :D :D

The challenge to source BARNES TTSX here in South Africa has one big challenge...our currency is extremely weak, so any product from the USA /Europe is extremely expensive.. So we can still buy the Hornady bullets for a fair price here in South Africa ....and we have access to bullets...

Hunter, I never shoot on the shoulder, I always try to place the bullet just behind the shoulder in the crease where I usually aim at when using my bow to hunt. I only need to break the two ribs , and hit the hart and lungs as well..
