What problems have you encountered with your Blaser R8?

May be a stupid question - Was it a MA bolt head or an ST bolt head fitted when you had the problem? I was advised to ALWAYS ensure that thy are matching. MA/MA or ST/ST etc. or problems may arise. Cheers John

What problems have you encountered with your Blaser R8?

I have a Blaser R8 Success (timber) and a one Makura Ulrich Takedown R93 and had a Blaser R93 Professional, zero problems encountered. I have owned many different rifles and would put the Blaser right up there with the best of them.

    Talk me into Blaser R8

Recently sold a Blaser R93 Pro and three barrels and some other rifles, deciding on a timber stocked R8 Success for most hunting. Super portable, shoots well and handles great, however I was kind of blah on the stock shape as I generally like a more tradition stock. Surprised at just how good...

    The Best Shooting Sticks!

I bought a Bog Pod tripod and that was okay especially with my late 70's father shooting, helps him steady the rifle. I then bought the Fenris II quad sticks, worlds apart, culling feral goats out to 400m with 300Win in a Sendero weight Rem700, very very effective in tall grass. Now I am...

Sako Super Hammerheads 150 grain 308

Just my take, I was recently hunting western Queensland, Australia & shot a small boar, maybe 35kg, quartering away at approximately 120m with Tikka Forest 30-06 150gr Super Hammerhead ammo (same bullet). Rear leg removed, full length body traversed and a dramatic exit through the left eye...

    Who has a blaser?

I have two Blaser R93, one is a green stocked Professional and the other is a Makura Ulrich Takedown with superb walnut stock. 25-06 with open sights, 30-06 with open sights, 7mm Rem Mag no sights and Magna-ported and 375 H&H with open sights and a Blaser radial brake. All have quick release...

    Blaser R8 scope mount question

Hi I have this bottom of the scope clearance issue with my Aimpoint 9000, I have two INNOmounts for my R93 with a 6x42 and 8x56 S&B, both have ample clearance in low 30mm rings. My Aimpoint has a fat belly and will NOT mount in low rings as it bells out on the mounting base. Cheers John

    Barnes bullets in.30-06

Totally agree Bob, I will hunt with cup & core non-bonded bullets in 30-06 class cartridges. I have a Barnes load for my Mauser and Blaser but do not regularly shoot it. Standard bullets have worked just fine for a long time, however for my 300 Weatherby Magnum I prefer a Barnes TTSX and drive...

    Barnes bullets in.30-06

My Mauser M12 30-06 Expert likes the TTSX 168gr bullet but shooting with a 2MOA Aimpoint those bullets are more accurate than me. Forget the benchrest groups, if it's under 2" your good to good hunting at stalking ranges.

Mauser M12 problems and Hexalock problems

Thought I'd add a photo, I had to trim the front extension base and re-blue as I did not want it hang over the front or rear of the receiver. Rifle weighs a light 8.1lbs with optics. Cheers John

    Mauser M18 v. M12 Compare?

While I agree that the M18 is the low end of the market I couldn't agree that the M12 is like a Rem700 which I have owned plenty of. I currently have a Mauser M12 Expert chambered in 30-06, trigger is awesome, fine cut chequering and stock work fit and finish is perfect, grip cap and ebony tip...

    Sauer 100 Ceratech stock work

Hi all Looking for any info if anybody has shortened the length of pull on a synthetic Sauer 100? Tips, tricks etc.. I bought a 270w Sauer 100 Ceratech however at 14.25" LOP I can only JUST get a proper eye relief with a t-shirt. Definitely won't with a pack or winter cloths so I am looking to...

Nah that would be Dad, figure I will drop into Ebor on the way down, he started me hunting when I was six there so I thought it'd be good just me and him for a couple of days.
