That’s a great question, I have never tipped my charter pilot until last year on my Nyakasanga hunt. I tipped him $50 - maybe just a weak moment but he was able to minimize some reported Pretty bad turbulence which I was grateful for. I agree tipping is getting crazy- guess I didn’t help much!

For a true wilderness hunt I would recommend the Dande with CMS or the Omay or Nyakasanga with Dalton and York Safaris. You’ll earn your buff and experience a true old Africa safari that won’t break the bank

This $10000 advertised hunt is Not in the BVC- which is considerably more expensive.

More important than the caliber is to take the Rifle you handle and shoot best including shooting from different positions and quickly reloading for a follow up. If you can’t proficiently handle the 400’s take the 375 and you will be fine.

I have a Blaser R8 with a factory 20.5” 375 H&H barrel and I love it. Lose very little fps with my swift A frames at 2500 fls and it’s a joy to carry in the bush. Took a last day eland at 250 yds ( just the way it worked out ) with one shot. Unfortunately they don’t offer this barrel any longer

It’s not a big deal but I was in the fly camp late September’24 and there was no internet service. I did try to use Keith’s hotspot from his phone but very spotty. The good news was the main Camp, which was a couple hundred yards away had starlink so if necessary you could make contact.

I put a 223 barrel on my R8. Can shoot 2-300” yds and and adds a lot of possibilities. Then I switch to the 375H&H for a session. Works very well

Watched it yesterday. Terrific job by Ph and his team sticking with it. Pretty dangerous stuff- congrats on his first buff- surely won’t forget it!
