excellent caliber choices. i had a .257 roberts 30+ years ago for black tail deer, and smaller varmints but never tried the .257 WBY...how accurate is your rifle at say + - 400 yards?

great points... i used same logic in late 1980s and early 90s with the .300 win mag. i loved and miss my German made Roy Weatherby mark 5, but ammo was not available at any cost most small town and x roads hardware-everything store where i hunted out west.

agree. i was a chainman on crews in 1980s, and early 1990s also grade setter / checker... nothin like fells naphtha for poison oak and sumac

agree 100% i have shot and hunted with .257 Roberts. .270 Winchester. 270 Weatherby mag. 25-06 Remington. .243 Winchester. .223 Remington. 25-06 Remington was the most accurate out to 400 meters / little farther in yards. a tack driver since back in late 1980s. but requires shot placement...

i know this to be true statement...and accurate within 100 meters

25-06 great caliber... for me in western states has been extremely accurate. with patience i have been able to get many 1 shot kills on deer , antelope, hogs, and varmints

i would think hard to pass customs with any can / suppressor

correct, the bolt guns worth having are CRF I understand to be controlled round feed. like the old win. mod. 70. the separate actions on a double rifle, for what I have read, make more reliable for DG. I just need to get more data on caliber best for me. correct I'm average working man on...
