Taking a rifle to Namibia via Germany advice needed...

Well, I live in the middle of nowhere. So, it normally takes at least one transfer to get a direct flight to Europe. We have 4 hours in Toronto, so enough time to get the rifle sorted out and on its way. If it is checked through to Frankfurt, then all is good. Unless, they confiscate it in...

Taking a rifle to Namibia via Germany advice needed...

Yes, we may spend a few mornings hunting roe deer. My friend in Germany is working on that....he is not optimistic I can import my rifle. Either way, I will post my findings here.

Taking a rifle to Namibia via Germany advice needed...

We will be flying into Frankfurt. We will stay in Germany for 9 days, so we are really trying to combine two trips into one. More my wife's idea than mine, but I will make it work. Thanks for the advice, Brickburn!

Taking a rifle to Namibia via Germany advice needed...

I am finalizing my plans for our upcoming family vacation to German and Namibia. My wife, youngest son and I, plan to spend 9 days to visit friends and relatives near Frankfurt. We will then take a direct flight to Windhoek, Namibia. Two weeks hunting and touring in Namibia and then return home...

NAMIBIA: My 2018 Free Range Namibian Plains Game Safari With Orpa Hunting Safaris

I'm heading to Namibia in August, with my wife and youngest son. Since both my son and I are left handed, I want to bring my own rifle. I think I will hire one of the specialized travel agents to smooth out the uncertainty of traveling with a rifle. This forum is such a great resource for...

    Browning x bolt medallion?

My son has a x-bolt in 7-08. He really likes it, but the only complaint is that the magazine spring is weak and it sometimes doesn't feed properly. He normally only takes one shot at a time so not a big deal when deer hunting but I wouldn't consider this rifle for dangerous game.

    A Muskrat Hunt

This reminds me a lot of central Saskatchewan, Canada, where I grew up. I spent many carefree days hunting muskrats, while I should have been studying the school books! In 1978, I trapped and shot 42 muskrats and 3 mink for an average price of $3.25 and $40 each respectively. Quite good money...

The Terrifying Phenomenon That Is Pushing Species Towards Extinction

Well, we can both agree that we don't like sensasional news titles. However, neither of us have met the researchers involved, so it is again pure speculation on your part on weather they are "greasy" or not. What ever that means? I think I've made my point, I'll leave it at that.

The Terrifying Phenomenon That Is Pushing Species Towards Extinction

Well Philip, like you, I have been a livestock producer my entire life and my wife is a veterinarian. AND YET I have never done a necropsy over the internet! I'm not sure why you do not believe the evidence presented by the researchers? However, to base an opinion on the cause of death, when you...

Quebec to allow caribou herd to die off

"The situation is sad, but we have to be reasonable. We believe it is better to put our efforts on the other 7,000 caribou of Quebec, where we still have good chances of success." Seems like a reasonable approach. Perhaps if GreenPeace is so upset they will put up the $76 million needed to save...

The Terrifying Phenomenon That Is Pushing Species Towards Extinction

For those of you who don't want to read the whole article...;). I find this very plausible. I ran a poultry farm for many years. We once lost 5000 market weight turkeys to to heat exhaustion. The temperature was over 41 degrees celsius. This caused their blood ph to change and death came very...
