The Waterberg Pateau does not disappoint. The buffalo are incredible, my experience there was a trip to remember.
In addition to the buffalo the sable, roan, and leopards are world class. I wish my year wasn't already booked out.
I have had very good results with both Leupold Mark 5 and Nightforce NX-8 scopes on hunting rifles. I’ve used both brands in similar scopes on various calibers. In hunting situations where a longer shot is taken (over 500 yards), I’ve found it easier with the Leupold scopes.
The two biggest...
Looks like @abnhog has posted both the story and pictures on a new thread.

Congratulations to both hunters and sounds like a great hunt.
In Africa, I have taken two Buffalo, a lion, and several plains game including Giraffe, Sable, Kudu, Zebra, Gemsbok, Waterbuck, Blue and Black Wildebeest, Blesbok, Eland, Impala, Springbok, Warthog, Baboon, Red Hartebeest, and a few others I'm guessing I am forgetting at the moment.
How about...
Thanks, I love to take photos while out on hunting trips. There are always great opportunities in-between hunting opportunities and in some ways can be just as challenging.
I would agree with all that was already said above.
One additional suggestion would be to go to a local camera shop and take an introductory course on photography. You will learn a lot about how use the camera settings to get your desired results and usually they will let you try a few...
A few of my favorite buffalo pictures from years past. The last one I have posted before but is by far one of my favorite buffalo pictures I have taken.
No problem, figured they were gone when I hadn't received a response and bought dies from deewane2003, so I am no longer in the market.
Thanks for the reply.
If I had to choose, it's the one on the right for me. I have always liked the look of a mature wide bull. Maybe with a few more years of growth he would look something like this bull I photographed in the Klaserie Reserve in South Africa several years ago. That said I would always defer to my PH...
A little more about me, I am a lifelong hunter. I grew up in northern New Hampshire chasing bears and bobcats with hounds and hunting whitetails in the cornfields. After school, I moved to Utah to pursue my career and to find open space and bigger mountains in the West. I continued chasing my...
Thanks for the responses and useful suggestions. I understand that the gun is worth whatever someone is willing to pay, and I am OK with taking what is fair to both parties. I have followed several auctions, listings, and even called several resellers. The swing in the prices is wild, but I've...
I've been following and reading the African Hunting Forum for years, but just joined because I need help determining the value of a rifle. I know from reading over the years I might get some pushback since this is my first post, but here goes anyway.
I have a Dakota Arms Traveler Safari model...
Typically I am an avid reader of webpages, forums, and books, but have never been a member, joined, or posted to a forum until today. I have hunted more than my fair share and enjoy the overall experience of the hunt regardless of where or what I am hunting.
Hopefully I can contribute as well...
